Well, I will grant you that I haven't spoken with any Iraqi War soldiers who have returned, but then I might point out that I have no reason to believe you. So far, all you've offered is hearsay and provable lies; what actual data you have offered are clearly wrong and so easily determined to be so that it really casts doubt on anything you write.

Further, it's easy to doubt the integrity of the US Government, given all the historical nastiness to which subsequent administrations have confessed on behalf of previous administrations.

There is no doubt that Dick Cheney was pushing for authorization to torture individuals (ex post facto, we now know), or that George W. Bush concurred with that. There is no doubt that the rules about torture are now hidden inside a classified Army manual. There is no doubt that instances of torture and sexual humiliation occurred by our own troops. There is no doubt that age is not a factor in determining who gets detained in US prison camps.

These are facts that have reached the mainstream media, which the administration has not even attempted to correct if false.

Furthermore, administration has not attempted to correct the record of the International Red Cross. Nor has it attempted to correct Jimmy Carter's report. What the administration has done is attempt to use weasel words to pretend like torture isn't torture. The administration has never denied that children are being detained. The administration has not answered charges that children are being tortured. And yet a US Army General is quoted in Jimmy Carter's book, describing just a fragment of the General's experience with an eleven-year-old boy -- an Army General, who should be most upset if people are putting words in his mouth, don't you think?

So, please, give us the good news. I'm all ears.
