Sorry to hear about your past experience. In view of the lack of concerned and unsympathatic about patient's feeling , that doctor was unfitted for the profession , not to mention about his poor professional skill, which is equally bad as the way he concerned his patient.
I had a head injury before and was rushed to the emergency. In the treatment room, the doctor on duty was kind and examined me carefully. When he told me I would have the stitches, I was very afraid and asked him about the same question'would there be scar' and I was really very afraid of the painful process of stitches.
Fortunately, the doctor was very kind, he just told be well,'I am not sure if there could be scar, but you still look nice and pretty. most likely, don't worry so much.' Thanks God that he finally consider a clue stitches rather than the real stitches to avoid the pain and the process, the cleaning, the drainge, the clue stitches was not pain. Afterwards, he put me on injections to avoid infections and I was recovery well. The doctor said the Glue stitches is an expensive stuff
Also , my friend's father was suffered from lung cancer many years ago. He still looked good though he was on the last stage and could have lived longer as he had strong faith to live on. But one day, his doctor told him that his case is hopeless. No medication could help you. Feeling upset , my friend's father passed away the other night. A doctor can heal but his words can also kill
In fact, I had really met some bad doctors whereby I loss confident with my future doctors or even afraid to change the doctor when I felt that my current GP was no longer concerned about me when his business is getting better and better.
He attribute all my recurring pain to anxiety in presence of my neurogical disorder and other prexisting illness.
Other than the medical training, I am just wonderng if the medical student have been taught to deal with his patients with concern and love, which is really very important during the healing process. He should have understood the pain and worries experienced by his patient.
Best of heatlh and all the best
