Okay folks...I've had great things to say about Holistic Horizons...but after today I am convinced that it is THE finest colon cleansing product available!
For those of you not familiar with me...I am a colon hydrotherapist...have done numerous colon cleanses...and give myself 1-2 colonics per week. Needless to say...I'm pretty clean! I am not a purist with my diet...life was also meant to be enjoyed and I like to eat all sorts of foods...so I periodically perform an intensive colon cleansing program in addition to doing the colonics.
A couple of months ago I started the Holistic Horizons program and then added liquid Bentonite to it to see if it would accelerate the process. I concluded that the Bentonite was neutralizing the effect of the additional herbs in their bulking agent...so I discontinued the bentonite. Shortly thereafter I also stopped the cleanse because I was in the process of packing and moving...decided to postpone the cleanse until I was more settled.
About 3 weeks ago I resumed the cleanse...but proceeding very slowly...and only using the bulking agent...no intestinal cleansing tablets as of yet...and only two shakes a day for the past 2 weeks.
Well...today I passed a motherlode while giving myself a colonic! There were several ropes of mucoid plaque...roughly 6 inches...and then...one continuous rope that was about 3 feet long! I could not believe my eyes!!! As this was passing out of my body there was a very significant 'deflation' of my abdomen...which had felt bloated the past couple of days...and then a rushing, flowing sensation throughout my legs and tingling in my groin area. When I finished the colonic and stood up there was a very pleasant sensation of warmth that filled my legs and it felt as if some sort of valve had been unplugged allowing everything to circulate and flow as it should. I was not even aware that I had been that blocked prior to this experience...my guess is that it has something to do with a clearing of the lymphatics.
And if that wasn't enough...a short while later I was reading the fine print on a bottle of supplements and was astonished to realize that I was able to focus perfectly with no reading glasses or squinting!!! My 43 year old eyes have not been able to see that clearly or that well in over 5 years!
If any of you decide to do the Holistic Horizons program...be patient and hang in there. It is well worth the effort, expense...and the wait!!!

Actually...HH used to be readily available in health food stores in Chicago years ago and I only know of one in this area that still carries it. Unfortunately...I believe that it has been replaced in the stores by 'newer' cleanses that contain laxative herbs that give people the impression that they're getting clean...nope...they're just making whatever you put in your face go through you faster so your bowels move more frequently! Too bad...because this in one of the few remaining products that doesn't contain laxatives.Advertisement

First of all, thank you so much for your great posts and all the information and advice you give here. It is SO appreciated!
To refresh you- I'm taking 3LAC and eating mostly raw for about 6 weeks now, also having weekly colonics. I have pretty severe candida- with fibromyalgia, endometriosis, etc, etc.
I'd like to progress to a cleanse next, but I'm afraid the B/P will cause constipation- an ongoing problem- and I don't like the idea of herbal laxatives as I feel my body would quickly become dependent. I can't really afford more than a weekly colonic- as much as I'd like to (I feel so great afterwards!).
So I'm considering the HH program. Sounds like you recommend it- is there a problem with constipation? My raw diet and colonics should help, what do you think??
Also- i'm pretty sure my coffee habit must go, but it does serve to move my bowels in the morning when all else fails. I'm working to cut it out slowly (down to 1 cup/day!) Is it working like a laxative/irritant? I fear I know the answer already....

This is a reply to # 602,378Constipation can be a problem with any of the high fiber cleanses...but it seems to be less of a problem with HH. HH contains dandelion in the bulking agent and also the intestinal cleansing tabs...and dandelion stimulates bile flow...which is a natural laxative that your body produces. I always suggest that folks be prepared to do enemas or colonics during any of the cleanses...just makes it easier and prevents this problem! Weekly colonics should be fine...but you can also do enemas at home (use purified or distilled water) in addition...if you need them.
No...coffee is not a laxative or irritant. Since it is a stimulant it does help jump start the system for some folks. BUT...it is also a diuretic...so it can contribute to dehydration if you don't drink enough water.

I thought that coffee was making it possible for me to go also, but after doing the Master-Cleanse and using warm water (warm enough for like teas and such) I found out that the coffee wasn't making it possible for me to be able to go. It was the fact that it was warm when all of my other intake was cold, refridgerant cold. Water, juice and whatnot. Now I can go to the bathroom by drinking warm water versus drinking coffee. In fact, I don't drink coffe anymore.

Your experience is very encouraging. Thanks for sharing.
I do have a question though, it sounds like you have done a lot of intensive colonic therapy. Do you think that you had your results because of the deep colon cleansing from your colonics? How many colonics did you have and do you think after cleansing for a while, going to have one colonic would help clear things out?
I was considering colonic but wanted to wait a while until I actually felt internally like I could use one.

Yes...I do take frequent colonics...about 2 a week...BUT...the first time I did the HH cleanse years ago I was not doing colonics...and I still got amazing results! I did use enemas at home whenever I felt clogged from so much stuff being released. The colonics can make the process go faster and with less discomfort from cleansing reactions...but you can still get great results without colonics.

PTree, that is so awesome! I am so jealous (in a good way of course!) I would love to have such a wonderful experience as you have. I am fairly new to the cleansing. I've done one month of CleanseSmart (RenewLife) and that worked pretty well, I did get lots of soft rubbery mucous out but nothing like the pictures. I then added Bentonite the last few days of my cleanse (w/o the psyllium) and ended up getting constipated. Right now I am doing nothing and my body is starting to function at about 2 movements a day. They are thin in diameter though. I know I must have mucoid plaque and want SO BAD to get it out. My plan was to get some psyllium to add to my Bentonite and I am seriously considering the master cleanse. I ordered a bottle of Clarkia but I don't want to start that too soon. I want to make sure I am well on my way to a clean colon first. I do add fresh juices too and drink lots of water and I take hot/cold showers daily (which I love!). I was impressed and was convinced that I wanted to try the H.H. program.
I read of other posters positive results.
I looked through the H.H. Q&A section and noticed that the H.H. bulking formulas
contain an ingredient to feed our good lacto-bacteria.
Do you think this program would be problematic for those with candida? Would the lacto-food feed candida?

If you've got a real bad case of candida you should probably stick with the Special Bulking Agent initially...it will result in slower die-off so you will have less discomfort. As the candida improves...with cleansing, diet and using antifungals...you can switch over to the Bulking Agent III which contains inulin and promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria. There is debate about whether PREbiotics such as inulin and FOS feed candida or not...some people have reported an aggravation of their symptoms when using these products. However, you will not be able to keep candida under control for the longterm if you do not take steps to increase the good bacteria. My advice is to make some headway with the candida first...and then focus on increasing the good bacteria with pre- and probiotics.Advertisement

One more question, re: HH products, which products were you taking daily? Also, you mentioned you were taking two shakes per day which I'm assuming to be p & B shakes. I know each of our bodies are different but it's good to get an idea of what is working for others.
I actually did Arise and Shine and felt good but after a month had to take a break (it's a month long program but I did not pass anything the whole time). I thought perhaps it was not the right program for me. It's pretty hard core.
I also posted a message below asking about your colonic therapy.

No...I'm not taking the p&b shakes! HH uses a bulking agent (psyllium husk powder plus herbs) which you mix with water to make a shake. All I was taking was 2 shakes a day of the Special Bulking Agent...I hadn't started their Intestinal Cleansing Tablets yet! I'm switching over to the Bulking Agent III as soon as my order arrives and will be progressing with the whole HH program. I did it years ago for 6 months and got tons of gunk out...but it took about 2 months then to pass any mucoid plaque. I imagine that my previous cleansing over the years and the regular colonics that I do is partly responsible for the quick and dramatic results that I had this time around.
I've also done the Arise and Shine program...didn't get near the results that I've gotten with Holistic Horizons!Advertisement
