valiegirl gave good long-term advice. I was having dry eyes for a while, the greatest relief came from putting a few drops of oil IN my eyes (as recommended here at curezone) at bedtime. Castor oil, coconut oil, and I didn't try it but I suppose olive oil would be fine.
For irritated eyes, a salt-water bath of warm water with some
Sea Salt in a bowl, opening the eyes under the water and looking around for a few minutes is really wonderful.
Obviously you can't use the oil in the day if you wear contact lenses. But if you have dry eyes you probably shouldn't be wearing the contacts anyway.
Remember, one way to rehydrate the body in general is with salt, as in Dr. Batmangelidj's book, "Your Body's Many Cries for Water." So for every cup or two of pure water you drink, it is good to take a pinch of
Sea Salt (You can lick it instead of mixing it in water).
