- When I first read your posts, I decided to try the "clean" diet and I am already noticing a difference. :-)
HI. FIRST OF ALL I THINK I WILL TYPE MY RESPONSES IN CAPS SO THAT YOU CAN DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN MY RESPONSES AND YOUR QUESTIONS. BUT I'M VERY HAPPY TO HEAR THAT YOU'RE ALREADY NOTICING A DIFFERENCE! THAT DOESNT' SURPRISE ME IN THE LEAST.
- I think I suffer from a yeast overgrowth but the problem is whenever I eat meat I REEK! It seems as if any meat will cause this. Also most carbohydrates (even wheat bead) cause me to reek as well.
WELL MEN TEND TO DIGEST MEAT BETTER THAN WOMEN, AND MESOMORPHIC OR ENDOMORPHIC MALES TEND TO DIGEST MEAT BETTER THAN SKINNY ECTOMORPHIC MALES. SO SEE HOW YOU FIT IN TO THESE CATEGORIES. IF YOU'RE A LEANER MALE, OR IF YOU'RE A FEMALE THEN YOU MAY HAVE MORE TROUBLE DIGESTING MEAT AND NEED MORE OF A PLANT-ORIENTED DIET. BUT EVEN IF YOU QUALIFY IN ONE OF THOSE CATEGORIES, YOU SHOULD STILL HAVE SOME ANIMAL PRODUCTS IN YOUR DIET LIKE ABOUT 4
oz. OF RED MEAT PER WEEK, AND OCCASIONALLY SOME FISH IF NOTHING ELSE. BUT MAKE SURE THE QUALITY OF YOUR MEAT IS HIGH. AS FAR AS WHEAT BREAD, THAT DOESN'T SURPRISE ME THAT IT HAS THAT EFFECT ON YOU. THERE COULD BE A FEW REASONS. WHEAT ITSELF IS SIMPLY HARD TO DIGEST DUE TO THE GLUTEN THAT NATURALLY RESIDES IN IT. SECONDLY, THE YEAST WHICH CAUSES THE BREAD TO RISE MAY PLAY SOME ROLE AS WELL IN DIGESTIVE PROBLEMS.
But since I am now taking the route of changing my diet I need to ask you for some SPECIFIC examples of what your daily menu/diet may entail.
**BREAKFAST-
-1-2 WHOLE EGGS COOKED IN CANOLA OIL
-1/2 CUP WHOLE OATMEAL (INSTANT PLAIN OATMEAL IS SUFFICIENT TOO.)
-1 CUP RASBERRIES
-SOME ROASTED ALMONDS
-1 CAN OF V8 JUICE.
-WATER OR COFFEE MAY BE DRUNK WITH BREAKFAST.
**SNACK-
-SALTED SUNFLOWER KERNALS
**LUNCH-
-CAN OF TUNA IN WATER (OR SALMON, MACKERAL, HADDOCK MAY BE SUBSTITUED IF YOU HAVE IT)
-1/2 CUP LENTILS/PEAS
-1/2 - 1 CUP CASHEWS.
-1/2 CUP BROWN RICE.
**SNACK-
-1 APPLE
**DINNER
-1/8 LB. TURKEY BURGER GRILLED
-SALAD WITH SPINACH, LETTUCE, CARROTS, CELERY, TOMATOES, OR ANY COMBINATION YOU'RE IN THE MOOD FOR, BUT GO EASY ON THE DRESSING! IN FACT, IT'S BEST IF YOU MAKE YOUR OWN DRESSING WITH SOME SALT BASED FLAVORING WITH NO MSG. THOSE PREPARED "TASTE GOOD" THINGS ARE DISASTROUS ADDITIONS TO YOUR DIET WHEN YOU READ THE LABELS.
-1 MEDIUM BAKED POTATO.
**SNACK-
-YOU'RE WELCOME TO HAVE ONE "SMALL" PORTION OF SNACK (JUNK) FOOD WHICH MAY CONTAIN SOME MONOSODIUM GLUTATAMATE LIKE FUNYONS OR FRITO LAYS, OR VARIOUS POTATO CHIPS. BUT IF IT SAYS YEAST EXTRACT ON THE LABEL I WOULDN'T EVEN RISK IT. BUT IT'S OKAY TO "OCCASSIONALLY" ENJOY YOURSELF AND HAVE SOME TASTY FOODS, BUT REMEMBER WHAT YOUR GOALS ARE. AVOID THIS IF YOU ARE AFRAID YOU WILL GET ADDICTED AND NOT BE ABLE TO STOP.
Also, I LOVE to eat bread and I LOVE to eat snacks but looks like those things are out now.
IT'S OK TO "OCCASIONALLY" EAT SNACKS WHICH MAY BE TYPICALLY CONSIDERED UNHEALTHY. BUT REMEMBER KEEP YOUR GOALS FIRMLY IN MIND WHEN DOING SO. IF YOU'RE WORRIED THAT IF YOU START SNACKING THEN YOU CAN'T STOP, THEN DON'T EVEN BUY THOSE FOODS FROM THE GROCERY STORE! IT'S IMPERITIVE TO HAVE NO-FAIL ENVIRONMENT. BUY ONLY THE FOODS IN THE TYPICAL DIET PLAN AND MAYBE ONE BAG OF A CHOSEN JUNK FOOD BUT NO OTHER JUNK FOODS. IF THEY DON'T COME INTO YOUR HOUSE, THEN YOU CAN'T EAT THEM!
Is there ANY kind of bread that you are eating that does not cause an odor?
I OCCASIONALLY ENJOY BUCKWHEAT BREADS. BUT IT ISN'T A STAPLE IN MY DIET.
And are you able to eat butter or margarine?
BUTTER'S OK, BUT NOT MARGARINE. MARGARINE ALONG WITH THE UNNECESSARY CHEMICALS IN PREPARED FOODS ARE THE SINGLE WORST FOODS YOU CAN PUT INTO YOUR BODY. MARGARINE IS ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY CYS-TRANS FAT. THESE INTERFERE WITH BOTH CIRCULATION (IT INCREASES THE CHANCE OF A HEART ATTACK BY MANY TIMES) AND ALSO WITH DIGESTION. ALSO, CHEMICALLY SPEAKING, SINCE MARGARINE HAS BEEN CHEMICALLY ALTERED BY BEING SATURATED WITH HYDROGEN, THE CHEMICAL BONDS BETWEEN AND INSIDE MOLECULES ARE MUCH MUCH WEAKER THAN SAY CANOLA OR FLAX OIL. WHAT'S THE PROBLEM OF HAVING WEAK CHEMICAL BONDS? WELL WHEN YOU DIGEST FOODS WITH POOR CHEMICAL BONDS THEY RIP APART UNEVENLY AND LOSE ELECTRONS MUCH MORE READILY THEN IN A NATURAL FOOD, AND THESE NOW POSITIVELY CHARGED MOLECULES (AFTER LOSING A NEGATIVE) ENTER YOUR BODY AND SEEK OUT HEALTHY TISSUES TO FIND AN ELECTRON TO MAKE IT NEUTRAL AGAIN. AND THIS PROCESS DAMAGES YOUR ORGANS. YOU MAY HAVE HEARD ABOUT THESE MOLECULES IN THE PAST. THEY'RE CALLED FREE RADICALS. STICK TO BUTTER, CANOLA OIL, AND FLAXSEED OIL (AND OTHER FATS FOUND IN NUTS AND SEEDS).
I know those are dairy but, have you eliminated those completely as well?
NO, I DON'T ELIMINATE THEM, BUT THEY'RE NOT THE FOCUS IN MY DIET FOR SURE. I PREFER CANOLA AND FLAX OILS IN COOKING OVER BUTTER. AND MARGARINE ISN'T EVEN AN OPTION FOR ME.
Because whenever I eat bread I always like to toast it with butter but seems like bread is out now since it has yeast.
I WOULD PROBABLY RECOMMEND ELIMINATING TOAST WITH BUTTER ON MOST DAYS. MAYBE ON A SATURDAY MORNING YOU CAN ENDULGE YOURSELF AND HAVE IT, BUT NOT REGULARLY. AND KEEP IN MIND IN THE RARE CASE YOU DO HAVE TOAST, THE BREAD ITSELF MUST BE MADE OF EXCLUSIVELY WHOLE GRAINS. READ THE LABEL.
How do you eat your brown rice? DO you eat it plain or are you adding something to make it a little tastier?
WELL, ORGANIC BROWN RICE TAKES QUITE A WHILE TO PREPARE. I USUALLY USE A PROFESSIONAL RICE COOKER TO COOK IT. TO SEASON IT I SOMETIMES PUT IN SOME LAWRY'S SEASONING SALT, OR I MAY MAKE AN HERB/GARLIC SAUCE WITH BUTTER ON MORE "CELEBRATIVE" DAYS...GRIN. BUT, MINUTE BROWN RICE IS ALSO NOT A BAD OPTION ON THE DAYS YOU'RE MOVING FAST AND DON'T HAVE TIME TO MAKE THE NORMAL. BUT THE MINUTE RICE MUST BE BROWN AND NOT THE WHITE. WHAT THEY DO IS PARABOIL THE RICE, WHICH ESSENTIALLY PRECOOKS IT. IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT, YOU WOULD ESSENTIALLY COOK IT THE SAME WAY THEY DO IF YOU HAD A RICE COOKER, SO IT COULD BE A GOOD TIME SAVER. BUT USE CAUTION, YOU NEVER KNOW HOW MANY NUTRIENTS HAVE LEFT THE RICE AFTER THEY'VE COOKED AT THE FACTORIES, WHEREAS YOU KNOW PRECISELY HOW YOU COOK YOUR UNCOOKED ORGANIC BROWN RICE AT HOME. BEAR THAT IN MIND.
Also, what types of "snacks" or treats do you eat to satisfy those
Sugar or snack cravings?
ACTUALLY, ONCE YOU'RE ON THESE WHOLE VERY NUTRITIOUS FOODS, YOUR CRAVINGS FOR
Sugar WILL UNDOUBTEDLY DECREASE NOTICABLY. I ACTUALLY CAN'T STAND
Sugar REALLY. I'M PRONE TO HAVING MORE OF THE SALTY SNACKS THAN I SHOULD AS OPPOSED TO SWEET SNACKS, SO THAT IS WHAT I ALWAYS NEED TO KEEP IN CHECK. SO IN GENERAL, IF YOU'RE ON THESE GREAT FOODS, YOU FEEL SO GOOD, AND ALL THE NUTRIENTS ARE PROVIDED THAT YOU RARELY NEED TO INDULGE IN SNACKS. BUT AS MENTIONED ABOVE IT'S OK TO MAYBE HAVE AN OCCASIONALLY SERVING OF A JUNK FOOD.
Also, you stated you eat fish and Angus and Choice beef. What is the name of the type of fish you are consuming and are you frying your beef or do you bake/broil it. I know that may be a stupid question but I was told fried foods are not good for us so I have to ask.
I REALLY ENJOY SALMON ONCE A WEEK WITH GARLIC, AND OCCASIONALLY HADDOCK, WALLEYE, OR TUNA. WITH REGARD TO BEEF, I ALWAYS BROIL IT OR GRILL IT. AS FAR AS FRIED FOODS, YOU MAY BE SUPRRISED TO FIND OUT THAT I BELIEVE THE HEALTHY FRYING PAN IS VERY GOOD FOR YOU. HOWEVER WHAT OIL ARE YOU USING? 99% OF FAST FOODS DRENCH ALL THEIR FOODS IN CYS-TRANS FATS AS MENTIONED EARLIER. IF YOU EAT FRIED CHICKEN FROM KFC THEN YES THAT IS TERRIBLE FOR YOU. HOWEVER, IF YOU AT HOME MAKE A STIR FRY WITH VEGETABLES AND CHICKEN FRIED IN CANOLA OIL, THEN THAT IS PERFECTLY FINE FOR YOU. FAT IS ACTUALLY VERY GOOD FOR YOU AND WILL NOT MAKE YOU SMELL IF IT IS PLANT FAT FRON NUTS AND SEEDS AND NOT TRANS FAT WHICH IS COMPLETELY ARTICIAL AND MADE IN A LAB BY MANKIND.
As for myself, before I read your post I was on the "standard american diet (bad foods) but for the past few days, I have changed that and am already noticing a difference. I work in a bakery but I do not give in to bakery sweets so working in a bakery is ok.
WELL THIS IS GOOD TO HEAR, BUT REMEMBER YOU MUST CREATE A NO-FAIL ENVIRONMENT. IF YOU THINK WORKING AROUND SWEETS AND PASTRIES ALL THE TIME IS NOT IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM CONTRIBUTING TO A DESIRE TO TRY THEM, THEN BY ALL MEANS KEEP WORKING THERE. BUT YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT IT TAKES AND CREATE THE DAILY ENVIRONMENT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED.
I will do whatever it takes to combat this body/breath odor because it is sooooo strong. Yes, I exercise about 2-3 times a week and have excellent hygeine.
GOOD. KEEP IT UP. I WOULD ACTUALLY INCREASE THE EXERCISE TO 7 DAYS PER WEEK! HOWEVER, PERHAPS ONLY EXERCISE "VIGOROUSLY" 3 DAYS A WEEK.
Ok I know I've asked a zillion questions :-) but I hope you will be able to answer all of them because I am desperate to get my life back on track but I need some ideas of menu suggestions since I will be completely NEW to this new way of eating.
THanks in advance for taking the time to answer my questions Tim. ontinued good health to you.
AND TO YOU TOO.
