My name is Lisa-Marie and I had Petit Mal (mostly) epilepsy for
approximately 30 years. Doctors think it was caused by lack of
oxygen getting to me while my mother was in labor with me for about
16 hours.


I went through most of the medications that were available until a
Neurologist here in PA told me there was no more he could do for me
and referred me to an Epileptologist up in Syracuse, NY. I went
through the batteries of testing to see if I was a surgery candidate
and found out I was a perfect candidate for left temporal lobectomy!


I underwent fifteen and a half hours of brain surgery,which also
included WADA testing the same day on December 15th, 1994 and have
been completely seizure-free ever since.


For the last seven years I've been online counseling others who
have/had epilepsy and I host two chat rooms each and every week. I
also have my own webpage.
