I am mostly vata, quite pitta and minimally kapha and don't know very much about ayurveda. I have been chronically constipated since about the age 16; I am now 39. I have been doing a
Bowel Cleanse and using
Oxypowder . I believe I'm pregnant and need to discontinue the
Oxypowder . When not using
Oxypowder I immediately become backed up and beyond uncomfortable. It's as if my bowel ceases to function at all. I had a miscarriage 2 years ago and was severely constipated and seemingly toxicly gassy at the time and was advised to use psyllium, which only made matters worse. I drink about 170
ounces of water each day. What can I do or take that is safe for my baby to alleviate the inevitable debillitating constipation and gas? Are flax seed oil, evening primrose oil or fish oil possibilities? I read that triphala is out of the question to take. My diet is 95% organic. I eat mostly raw vegies and fruit, some eggs, chicken, fish, beef. Usually smoothies with organic juice and fruit for breakfast. No sugar, no artificial sweeteners, no msg. I use stevia. I have one or two glasses of wine at night, but will discontinue. I do have two cups of coffee per day, but know I need to discontinue this too. I've searched on other websites to see what women are doing, but am having a hard time finding what I'm seeking. I made a post on the
Bowel Cleanse page and someone suggested using prune juice and glycerine suppositories. I am so fearful of the gastric problems yet so looking forward to welcoming my baby in my life and to my world. Any suggestions would be so very welcomed and appreciated.
