I suggest you pop it in the fridge, enquire at local chemists (they always have a pharmacist on duty, at least in the U.K.) what kind of preserving fluid they can sell you or recommend, look out a suitably sized clear glass jar, then wait for more replies to come in here.

A formaldehyde/formalin solution would be the proper method. But insect samples (caterpillars, spiders, etc.) are often stored in common rubbing alcohol, so that might be a more readily available option for further visual inspection, assuming it doesn't dissolve the sample. If formaldehyde isn't an option, I'd use alcohol.

Formaldehyde is a carcinogen. I'd steer clear of it. It is one of the biggies on Hulda Clark 's list of "things that should be removed from the home at all costs," it helps the little buggers set up hotels and condominiums on your insides.

I preserved a parasite once, with alcohol, but it deteriorated pretty rapidly. Of course if you want to follow Dr. Clarks protocol you'd have to use Vodka or some other drinkable alcohol, since "Isopropal/Rubbing alcohol" tops her "don't even keep it in the house" list. I didn't know about Dr. Clark at the time, and so I used the bad stuff. So, maybe you'd have better results with drinking alcohol.

I read elsewhere in this forum that someone preserved his in mineral oil. You could try that, or maybe castor oil. I almost think I've seen something about preserving things with mineral oil somewhere before... but I can't quite remember it.

Hello, I too found something and I want to preserve it and so I froze it in alcohol. What is the point though if you dont take it to a Naturopathic doctor and she can find out what it is. Taking pictures is great, but whats the point. You need to get rid of all of them. If you are passing things like this, you need to dig deeper and get more of it. Are you taking Black-Walnut and all that--Dr Hulda Clark s regime?. You should be eating my dr's recipe with flax and all that in the morning to clean everything out and cascara sagrada and making sure you go to pottie 3 times a day. Or that junk will stay in there and breed. I will send you the recipe if you like. Just trying to help out here.
