I have been using the whole husks but I was at a friends place
and he had the powder and I tried it and found it to be more palatable. If not mistaken one is s'posed to use one tsp of the powder instead on a tbsp of the whole husks.
Anybody have any info as to the efficacy of one vs the other?
Please post even if it's personal and anecdotal info.
Yep...you're right about the dosage. My experience...they work the same...the main difference for me is that the whole husk is a little easier to take because it doesn't gel up as quick so you don't have to slam it quite as fast! But it's really a personal preference thing....they both get the job done!
Hey Ms. P I got the Psyllium powder today and it sure seemed
a lot less gel like than the whole husks. Like I said befo, I slam it and I prepared the powdered stuff in the same time frame and used the same room temp water.
I have used both whole husk and powder and haven't noticed much difference, however, I put soy milk and frozen fruit (strawberrys, blueberrys, etc) in a blender with the psyllium and then freeze the mixture for 30 or 45 minutes and eat it like ice cream.

They work the same. My question is this: the indication on the box states that psyllium is a laxative and should not be taken for longer then a week.
Can anyone please tell me if psyllium can be taken for life ? It does wonders for me and I am worried about the world laxative even if it is fiber.
thank you
