There is a market for things like natural anti-biotics, alternative-fuel vehicles, but they are not being exploited. Why? There are literally people lining up to get a super-efficient car, so why aren't they making more of them , esp where they are allready set up and building them? And these models aren't even the best that technology could offer, its just a hint of what we could produce. "Expensive new technology makes them unaffordable" is what we hear industry guys saying, but look - there is a line up at the dealers , people with money eager to spend as much as $50,000 for alternative fuels or super-effient technology.
And thats without any promotion at all compared to the regular line-up of vehicles that are still being pushed hard. In fact, its pretty obvious that the automobile manufacturers are trying to convince us to stay with the old line-up.
Anything that sells, even to small niche markets, would normally have someone behind it, pushing it and ready to make a buck off it. Just look at the junky stuff they sell on E-Bay, and you see that there is a mrket for anything and everything.
But not things that interfere with the main product lines. How could they get co-operation with all those enterpreneurs out there? Wouldn't somebody elbow their way in and peddle them somewhere? No, and this is the kind of control that has made us hostage to "protective capitalism". Its really no better morally than a dictatorship with heavy propaganda.
Social movements towards 'environmentally sustainable living' have got a lot of strength , and its growing. But people who we call "they" are fighting against it. "They" are not only resisting protecting the environment, but judging by their actions, they are aiming to make it worse on purpose. Anything to make it difficult to survive without technology.
WHY? Is it that they know that when things get bad enough, people will revert to nature, so they are killing it off?
Or is it just plain greed, getting as much from the old horses as they can, stretching that game out as long as possible, pollution be damned?
Its not for me to know at this point. But something is wrong when the free market is imprisoned like this. Just try to go out and market enema kits, natural anti-biotics, or alternative fules, even just solar panels and you will find a lot of resistance. However, find a new way to use plastic [but not in solar panels, lol] and you find that there are government grants, people from the Chamber of Commerce that will come and help you, and all the help you need. Pricing problems? No problem, you can have the plastic at a discount price, even for free at the start, and pay us when you can, just make the product and get people to buy it.
Its that bad.
You really cannot mass procude anything that goes against the established lines of products. And in medicine, many effective cures are being un-used, people suffering needlessly, because the pharmaceutical corporations control things and they only want products and medicines that can be patented, for the much bigger profits margins. Its true, absolutely, that some of the best meds, and the cheapest ones that even Africa could afford, are purposely being kept from the public as much as is possible. Much suffering and death is the result.
Some call it protectionism, for the benefit of all due to a healthy economy and strong corporations.
I call it an economic dictatorship. There is a lot of harm being done to us and the planet because of it, much of it ir-reversable. WE should stop them as soon as possible...
