My youngest son is named Michael...so it is a personal favorite of mine! Do you go by Michael or Mike?
I am pleased to see this perspective shared and will definitely look into your pastors ministry. In regards to sickness...there are scriptures that clearly tie the 'whole man' into the equation (isn't this where the term 'holistic' originates)? After all...we are first a spirit, who has a soul, and lives in a body. All three components should be examined and treated as the Holy Spirit directs. I will post just a couple of scriptures here as food for thought for anyone else reading and contemplating this truth.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 1Cor 11:28-31
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Prov 3:7-8
22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
Prov 17:22
I am glad to hear that you have seen God's miraculous healing (I experienced one of my own just recently that was included in the Curezone newsletter). I think that we have become a church with words...but no power! Wouldn't it be a wonderful thing if we preached the word with signs following like Jesus and His disciples did? I have never been on a mission trip outside of this country, but have heard many testimonies from those who have that it is not uncommon to see many healings and deliverances!
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. Mark 16:20
Blessings,
E
