Well it is day 14 for me and I am feeling great. In response to multiple posts questioning the
SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) I have this to say. I am in the middle of my 14th
SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) as I write this. I have maybe been lucky in that it has not bothered me at all with the exception of what pouring 32oz (2+ lbs in weight) into my stomach all at once feels like. Beyond that I have experienced a 'flush' every morning that I am certain is far more productive than just drinking lax tea alone. Burroughs states in his book that we need an internal cleansing and suggests using the
SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) but avoiding
colonics and enemas. In fact he said
colonics and enemas should never be done during or after the fast as he believed them to be unnecessary and potentially harmful. The SWF apparently reaches areas that a
colonic or enema cannot, giving you a better cleansing in any case. I cannot compare the SWF to enemas or
colonics as I've never had that experience and have no plans to go there. The SWF has been excellent for me though.
By closely following Burroughs instructions, I have lost 18.5 lbs as of the start of day 14. I am 6'1" tall and started this fast at 231.5
lbs. My ideal weight is 175-180 range. I am quite shocked at the amount of loss as I never expected to lose so much when I started the fast. My initial plans were to go the minimum 10 days and at day 8 I had decided to push on. On day 12 I had decided that day 14 wasn't enough and that I would push on to maybe day 21. I am letting how I feel physically and mentally determine how long to go with this. To be honest I have felt just fine from the start and have had no real cravings and no hunger. I attribute that to following the mix instructions precisely. I also have a rule where I cannot drink the lemonade within 3 hours of bedtime. I've had plenty of energy which tells me that my intake of the lemonade mixture has been sufficient to sustain my daily efforts.
My wife and daughter have been very supportive which makes doing this easier for sure. For the first few days they tried to avoid me when they were eating but I've since stopped them from doing that. We now take our meals together, they with theirs and me with my lemonade. I plan to go a mostly vegeterian diet when I leave the fast. Am hoping that by eating clean that I will have a positive influence on my wife and daughters eating habits as well.
I give this fast an A+ and will plan to do it at least once per year.
