Hi!
I had a c-section 20 years ago, and a second one 15 months later. After the first, I couldn't take care of myself properly. I'm the only driver in the family, and my son had jaundice, so I had to drive him to the clinic for blood testing every day the first week that he was home.
My former primary care physician told me I had a hernia at the incision site (bikini incision). My current PCP said, "Oh, no, you healed just fine." How could she tell without some kind of test? I have had a big gut hanging down since the c-sections. I know it's not a "beer gut," because I haven't had a drink in 20 years! I don't have a lot of pain with it, just when I get up from lying down or try to do sit-ups.
If you can get your hernia fixed, by all means DO IT. I hope I haven't waited too long to fix mine!
