Raymond, I'm not Shelley, though I think I can offer some advice here as I have struggled with this one.....
Firstly, we are not 'all' dairy intolerant. Yes, dairy is not easily digested-though for some people just fine. There are tests yopu can have to find out-or you can judge by how it makes you feel too. Most people here are talking about eliminating dairy during their cleansing phases. If just doing that in the short term, well it's manageable(although I do slip in a dash of milk with my two cups of natural decaf tea a day -but please don't tell Shelley!;)
As for your cereal, soy milk is definitely the go! I prefer it to milk because of its nutty taste. Get the full fat one so it doesn't seem like water as you say. It can take some adapting, though before you know it, you'll prefer it. Also they make vanilla flavoured ones too that will change the taste for you if need be. If you have
Sugar issues-get one without cane sugar/barley etc. I buy a sugarfree one and add dash of vanilla sometimes.
As for your other dairy, well it depends on your condition. You may only need to go without short term. Otherwise, start eploring soy products, yoghurt, cheese a little more. Everything is adaptable.
Hope that helps.
