"but I think it's important that they specify WHICH e.d., they keep just using the term 'eating disorder' which is misleading and confusing for people. They should always state that it was a result of bulimia, not anorexia. From what I've heard, she was not an anorectic, right?! While both are very dangerous and can have fatal consequences, I still think it's important that people understand the correct link"
In the above quote the poster was suggesting that the media needs to mention which eating disorder Terry Shiavo had, that people are being mislead by the term "eating disorder". There is nothing misleading about using the term "eating disorder" as the poster suggests there is. People with eating disorders often compare and compete in their disorders and the idea of naming the specific disorder just reinforces that competition. Maybe that isn't what the poster had in mind, but I think it's a point worth making. Actually, statiscally anorexia is more dangerous but many women have more than one disorder or go through phases of different disorders. Eating disorders are all damaging to the body. We don't know if Terry Shiavo had elements of anorexia in conjunction with bulimia? It's not always so clear cut. ©†ƒ……•™¼‡_Original_Message_¾€š½ž¢«»¬ï°©
