Some younger family members both have finally succumbed to buying/using
Cell Phone s as a means to be connected in their professions.
I am really concerned at the way no one of a certain age seems to care anymore about the effects of them; some sort of blase pall has fallen over people, it seems. I was told one salesperson laughed at the question of which phones would do the least damage-- laughed at the mention that they might cause cancer...
In talking to family last night about not using them more than they have to, I could feel their frustration -- they say almost no one they know has land lines these days--not so much by choice but because it's not affordable and practical, what with moving about for work and study. They do not, at least, like so many people I see hereabouts, walk around outside with a cellphone pasted to the ear. And, they keep them mostly turned off.
But I am aghast that no one who's young ever seems to be 'alone' anymore! remember when a person out by themselves was by themselves? It's like the C.P. is some sort of desperate 'lifeline'-- hard NOT to wonder at what messages are able to be implanted
in the minds of this huge group of people, who are so willing to be continually hooked in.
But this sort of stuff is very depressing to hear...
So, Is there any way to make these things less harmful? I hate to be seeming to bring bad tidings always, these days, to those I love about health and the effects of various kinds of poisonings, without also offering -equally, at least! the light at the end of THAT tunnel...Reading the other day that one five-minute call is the same as having you head beside a microwave oven for eight hours really disturbed me. Not sure if that's true, but I can imagine it might be.
I would love to hear about what positive and not-too costly things I can offer my loved ones so that they do not feel resigned to accepting something they know is unhealthy. It seems to me that must be one of *the* most demoralizing things
one can do to one's spirit...
Anyone know how to turn this around?
