Does anyone have any ideas about this?
I have been having trouble with the skin on my legs. It has been since last spring, although it was mild in the spring. I was living on the equator then. When I moved back to the USA it got worse, partly due to it being less humid and partly due to using chlorinated shower water at the time (have since started using a shower filter and it has improved).
The main thing is that from above the ankles to below the knee, the skin gets itchy. It easily bleeds, just small spots but this means little scabs all over. They haven't all healed in this past year, because I keep scratching them. The skin was very dry on the shins but the since the shower filter they aren't really dry (I do not use lotion although if they are dry I will use olive oil or coconut oil).
I have found that when I am in the shower what I like best is to turn the water on VERY hot and "scald" (not really) my legs. This water is too hot for the rest of my body, such as my hands and arms. But it feels GREAT on my legs. This might be a bad thing. But it brings relief for a while (several hours).
Another thing that helps a lot is putting raw apple cider vinegar on my legs. I understand that skin pH should be somewhat acidic and that water sometimes leaves them a little too neutral? Not sure but the ACV helps for a while.
Any ideas as to what this problem might be, or ways to deal with it?
I am am not overly concerned with it, and haven't really stuck with any "treatment". I am contemplating using ACV after EVERY shower. Also, putting olive oil with oregano oil in it on my legs. Putting amish dewormer on them? (I am taking that internally now, have done 2
parasite cleanses in the past).
Comments or questions welcome. Thanks!
