Hello!
I'm a newbie here trying to absorb as much as my Lyme brain will allow.
I recently had the good fortune of seeing my blood on a darkfield scope...................absolutely fascinating! The Naturopath at the alternative clinic, as well as my Lyme doc (Neurologist, D.O.), both use these.
I was in a research study test-driving an herbal protocol designed for treatment of Lyme. Part of the monitoring process was the use of darkfield microscopy to assess the degree of "garbage" in the blood.
The Docs both have a wonderful photographic chart which is much like a "key" on a map to help identify structures and patterns/behavior of various blood components. The most marked thing I saw (and understood) was the presence of Candida...............simply amazing to see, photograph, and objectively measure the activity of the "yeasty-beastie" as we stopped using
Antibiotics and started the protocol which included nutritional changes (Eat for your
Blood Type Diet ), the herbal supplements, Skin Brushing to stimulate Lymphatic system to aid in detox, Bioresonance Treatments for various toxins (I had TONS.........DDT/DET, Chlordane, Formaldehyde, HPV, Hep B vaccine injury, gasoline, benzene, etc.) and Ozone (both as a beverage before and after rectal insufflation of Ozone, followed by use of Chi Machine, use of the Ki* Method ( www.kinginstitute.org ) for restoring bio-electrical energy balance, and a spiritual component that can be individualized according to the patient's faith or belief system.
For Lyme Disease, one of the biggest challenges is an accurate diagnosis. Unfortunately, the tests available are not very accurate because the Borrelia b. spirochete doesn't stay very long in the blood.........it burrows out, deep into low oxygen tissues such as bone, tendons, ligaments, nerve cells, etc. So the blood tests are "hit and miss". But I was able to actually see a live, viable spirochete on one of my blood slides! You can see all kinds of things with the darkfield..........fibrin clumps which can contain viruses, white blood cells actually enveloping pathogen invaders, intracellular organisms..............whether your RBC's are clumping, mis-shapened, "sticky platelets"................incredible stuff. Plus, the scope is connected to the PC so you can view your sample on the monitor and even take a digital photo for documentation.
Sorry to blabber on and on..............but it is so amazing and would have so many applications that it is hard not to be excited about it.
