HI..there is no such thing as seasonal psoarsis. It's genetic. But the seasons can trigger a response. Mine gets really terrible in the winter due to the dryness in the air(in and out of bldgs and home). I need to mosturize more during the winter months. In the summer I clear up great. The UV rays from the sun help me a lot and clear me up almost 50%. My body is about 90% covered and has been since birth. I have sporatic clearing up episodes tho. There is so much out there now since I was born, keep researching. I do. and I've had it for 58 out of 58 years of age. Good luck

Hey ladyfthread just responding to your message. Yeah I have had psorasis for 13 years and mine has never cleared up once. It looks the same everyday but everytime summer gets here it seems to get worse. I am like you its always bad but winter is better than summer. I hate that because it is confusing. I don't get in the sun alot though and it stays mostly warm here I live in the south but I think its the humidity that is causes mine to be worse in the summer. It is very humid here. I have read one other post with the same question But most are the opposite. This is a confusing disease. I would like to talk to the ones who have the same problem as us and find out what has worked for them because some things work for others while still others say they had no improvements! well keep me posted if you find out anymore info too.

It's very unusual that your Psoriasis gets better during the winter months. For most sufferers it's the opposite. Warmth, humidity and sun make the condition better and the cold, drying heat from furnaces and lack of sun make the condition worse in the winter. That's what happens to me anyway.

Yes, my Psoriasis clears completely in the Winter, first sign of Spring it begins again, like clock work. When I'm sun bathing, I see new breakouts, the more I lay out the worst it gets. I've had Psoriasis for 40 years, my sibling has it as well the sun makes it better. You hear so many different things that could be causing it, I guess we'll never really know.

I thought I was the only one out there with this issue of having to be in the coldest grayest weather around in order for my skin to heal.
I'm contemplating Alaska having my last outbreak after the heatwave in California. I feel scarred for life from the top of my bald head (had to shave my head and yes I'm female) to my feet...
Doctor told me to avoid all sun back in 2001 and I did for 10 years in Oregon... went into total remission so I came home to California - homesick. And now after 4 years I don't even look the same. My skin is pitch black on parts of my face and body in spots. I am black and so some just think it's hyerpigmentation and natural... no...it's not. I was a mocha color and now, I'm blothy and ugly with all these very dark areas all over my face and body. So this makes me look like someone other than myself.
I'm depressed and leaving California - I won't be back... and it makes me sad...

I have recently been diagnosed with Psoraisis, and it only flares in summer and gets better in winter, my Dr. 2 says its unusual. I have been on methotraxate, Humira, Cyclsporine and now stelara. I am praying for a break. The nails are the worse for me, when i have a flare up, it is everywhere, red and raw. Nothing helps, but Dr. and I keep trying new stuff.

I have this. Goes away in winter and comes back as soon as the sun comes out. Apparently 10% of people with Psoriasis suffer this way. I found no info on the subject. Almost unheard of. Look out for psoriatic arthritis.

I have the same issue Jan, Feb, March & part of April I am completely clear, then it warms up and I break out everywhere. I have done fasts in the past just on spirulina and that seems to clear it up but I like to eat. I don't eat any different in the winter than I do in the summer so pretty sure it's the pollen that causes Psoriasis for me
