My doctor actually ordered the test for me from Great Smokies and since she ordered it my insurace will pay for 80%. The test results were back within 2 weeks and did show that I did not have ANY of the good bacteria in my system. It did help in finding out how to treat my symptoms. Maybe you can check and see if your nsureace would pay for any of it. I think the total charges were $486 which is too steep for me if I had to pay all of it. Hope this helps. I think mine was called a comprehensive stool analysis.
