I too, have experienced stinky little balls growing in the pockets at the back of my mouth/top of my throat. They've occurred a handful of times in my life, usually during illness. However, I recently changed my diet and have done some fasting and bowel cleansing, and noticed these things in my throat again. I'm also interested to know what they are and why they come.

Hi - sorry to butt in front of Shelley on this one, but I have had these tonsil stones before.

I had many many of them and the doctor I went to said that the tonsils have "cavities" in them and that when you eat, food particles get stuck in those cavities. After a while, bacteria mix with the food inside the tonsils and VOILA you get a stinky whitish tonsil stone. It eventually works itself out.

According to my doctor these are not harmful and just happen.
They are annoying however. The doctor was not aware of any way to rid yourself of these stones, short of removing the tonsils.

(I had mine removed because they were the size of plums! Not because of the stones.)

I would like to hear if Shelley has more information on these tonsil stones too.

I used to have these, too, but they went away after I cut out nearly all dairy. (the only dairy I have now is goat's yogurt). Since you're fighting candida, you probably don't have much dairy, but I thought I'd chip in with my two cents anyway.

Hi Gehna! Wow, I've only heard from two people that they actually had tonsil stones. Isn't it incredible how messed up the lymphatic system can get??? Definitely read the Lymph Cleansing notes in the FAQ&A on this page and follow as many of those guidelines as possible!!!! :)

I was in the same boat as you - too many Antibiotics - and it's way easier to get over candida when that was the original cause. So keep on the diet, keep cleansing, and you'll be fine! took me about 3 months to get rid of the candida, then another 6-9 to get rid of leaky gut, since I'd ha dthe candida undiagnosed for 5 years yeesh.

Keep gargling occasionally with the Grapefruit-Seed-Extract and try ACV too, as you cleanse - now that the stones are gone, chances are there is liquid that needs to come out too. Colloidial silver is wonderful for sinus treatments, do that too - the entire area is connected and the impacted mucous could be in sinuses and ears too. Ear candleing would be good to do too. To flush the sinuses adequately, you really need the right tool. There are several versions, the one I hope to get is the little teapot used in Finland altho it originated in India. :)
