"Can you be born with worms and have them for ever?!"
I don't know if one could be "born" with gastrointestinal
parasites since they would have to have been introduced through the mother's bloodstream via the umbillical cord, and such
parasites are largely taken in by mouth, not the bloodstream. But even a baby or infact can take in pathogens, of course, just as an adult can. All it requires is a pathogen, an open mouth, and an opportunity for transmission. Once present, they can remain for days, weeks, years, or decades, depending on the organism and a lack of treatment.
If you haven't had a comprehensive clinical diagnosis -- specifically I'm talking about a "Comprehensive Stool Analysis" -- that is what I would suggest to rule in or out parasites, yeast or bacterial infection/overgrowth, deficiencies in output of stomach acid, pancreatic enzymes, or liver bile, or other gastro disturbances. It's an excellent starting point. More info below. Good luck!
