MoreI saw what seems to be a good deal on a gallon of Flax Seed Oil on Ebay, but I don't know if I can really use a gallon up before it goes bad. How long can this last if I keep it in the frige and fill a smaller bottle from the main bottle as I need it?
I can't find any information on how long the darn stuff keeps, only that it doesn't keep as well as regular oil.
Here is a link is this the right kind? I had no idea that there were so many things and different kinds of the same oil.

This is a reply to # 27,238Good quality organic flax oil is fairly unstable ans spoils easily. To maintain optimum nutrition it is better stored in glass bottles and refridgerated. Even with this its shelf life is not very long. Most comes with an expiration date of maybe a month and a half to two months.

Yes the guy selling the gallons on ebay says freezing will easily extend the shelf life long enough to use up before it goes rancid.
I did bid but got beat. but I was chicken too and didn't bid too high.

This is a reply to # 27,276if you follow the advice of many health practitioners several tablespoons of the oil should be consumed daily.if you consume only four a day that gallon will only last only a couple of months.

This is a reply to # 27,238Invest in coffee grinder, buy own flax seeds and have them fresh each time you want to use them. Another words, make a new batch for that time only. I refrigerate my whole seeds till I am ready to grind and then use. Cheaper and fresher too.
