Butter Milk For your septic tank. Go through this below. Came off of nextdoor.com
To all of you who have septic tanks I found a new trick to keep them “healthy” this week. My neighbor in Atlanta said she had not had her tank pumped in 18 years with zero problems. She became concerned when many of her neighbors said she was setting herself up for a septic disaster. She decided to have her tank pumped out and the guy who did it said she had one of the cleanest tanks he had ever seen. Her secret? A quart of buttermilk flushed every month. I have spent a fortune on Rid-X myself. Evidently it kills good bacteria as well as bad. I think I will use buttermilk in the future.
I pour all of my left over milk and buttermilk down my sink. We have lived here 40 years and have not had one problem with our septic system ever. We also had a septic system in Decatur and never had a problem ever!
A couple packets of dry yeast every month or so works for me.
