So, Iodine friends, here's a puzzler.
I'm looking for tips on lowering swelling in the inner lips.
I'm using SSKI (it's with a rubber stopper and over a year old now in the dropper bottle, so I do not think it is full strength any more) about 2-5 drops per day, with salt pushes that roughly follow the improved miracle mineral mix. I use all the co-nutrients for iodine, and evening primrose oil, manganese (I found Mg was tossing me into a pit O' despair. A good fellow studying and practicing highIodine therapy pointed out the Mg/Mn seesaw (see mercuryfreekids.org for that person) and that solved several probs in one fell swoop) and molybdenum (for candidiasis relief).
Currently my inner lips are so swollen that I have bit several very sore spots in them, and the tissues feel too soft. I've been waking up with swollen cheeks. I have two sockets where root canals were pulled, and they are especially bad if I've had high blood sugars.
Yes, I am going to answer straightforewards, I have my eyes open for oral surgeons who can help with cutilage for cleaning gum lining from those sockets, and I'm aware they need surgery.
Right now Iodine has been a big boost in calming the cheeky problem, but between type 1 diabetes and the tissues of the mouth being swole with shifting out the residue of having had 13 Amalgams removed, my face is needing TLC. I thought about dental whitening trays and liquified Bentonite clay.
Anyways, input appreciated. :)

This is a reply to # 2,411,016All these years I have taken iodine; when strange symptoms appeared. Stopped all supplements for a few days; then took them back one by one; then I knew what was causing what. PS it was never the iodine:)

Yes, the steps backwards seems to be the one right direction to go when they show up.
Right now low-dose SSKI is what's carrying me best in the thick of a new job, system's brightening up when I have it, so I'm keeping the bottle mostly at the office.
Type 1 diabetic, when I first tried high doses with Lugol's I had emotional bawling out the wazoo.
For any likewise folks out there,
The dental cleanup was very necessary. Took a long time due to the investment, but very necessary.
Biggest change these months is that the soreness of the socket infections is in the cheeks / swollen tissue and not right now localized to the old sockets. Clove/cinnamon essential oil did not effect the infected areas NEARLY as good as iodine, thought it's like walking a tightrope wire (VERY carefully with just one supplement at a time) to nurse things along. Putting the SSKI right on a Q-tip/cotton bud and applying to the gum/inner cheek is very good.
I think it's more Wombat that wrote / researched so well on vitamin A, but 20,000 - 60,000 iu vitamin A stops socket pain and throbbing near right in it's tracks as well.

a lot of these things are catalysts, some are effective at one part per 400,000,000,000. I see many folk supplementing with far more than the proper amounts, they think that if some is good, then more is better, but that is not the case. actually, opposite. in many instances, parabenzoquinone at 10(-9) or 10(-12) is catalytic towards restoring normal oxidative function, but the same material at 10(-5) is carcinogenic. I can write books but there are enough books out there. diabetics should take particular interest in thiamine, but normal amount is only about one milligram per day, or roughly 1/3 mg per meal. That's what nature did, and nature is very powerful, the correct catalytic amounts. pantothenic acid is also worthy of more study, the best sources are from circa 1935-1950, before all the synthetic vitamins came onto the scene. You might also learn that mixed tocopherols such as from wheat germ oil is superior to other forms of E, and also that E alone can alleviate peripheral neuropathy

This is a reply to # 2,411,694Thx very much for taking the time to do some supplement analysis, Vul. It's a good bit of work, so thumbsups.
The salty options here are otherwise atlantic (mediteranean-harvested) w/algae in for the Iodine (but this is questionable as far as I understand, thx be to seagulls), and as far as I've been able to find, Seltin (salt replacement mix) of sodium/potassium chloride with a pinch of ES (magnesium sulfate), or the plain tablesalt. Issues with the flow agent (iron/cyanide mix) has an alert on the table of addatives here on CV (available under ' foods that kill ').
The seltin is interesting as it is almost exactly on the 70/30 ratio.
Do have MgCl but the last dosings made me so punch-drunk that my family was a bit weirded out over newyears. I always see white fuzzytongue afterwards (as is with most Mg for me). Ruccola/rocket and other greens is my preferred source TBH. Do you find MgCl2 to have more resistance to fuzzytongue effect?

Well-noted on the sulfurs, as ES and other sulfurs again triggers the fuzzytongued effect in varying degrees. I am well aware a successful parasite cleanse is supposed to remedy this effect, but there's a catch-22, or at least a curious note here. Many of the antiparasitics are sulfur-based, but I cannot tell if it is due to depriving them of Mn via overloading the sulfur pathway, or even by overloading the system they're trying to live in with sulfides. Any thoughts?

What's your current stance on the 100mg+ SSKI techniques? I've thought of the SE dosage as being dependant upon the dosage of iodine. Right now overloading on Se sets my whole system to SHOUTING about uncomfortably dry skin, (200mg is apperantly a large amount), but the reactions are much different if there's been a lot of clicky-ticky joints and issues resting in bed.
Again, fuzzytongue reactions are showing up on it.

Much agreed, dose and timing is showing itself to be very important. Dosing with these in particular can be once every 3-14 days.
Sulfur nutrients (b1 included but my supply of it is benfothiamine, not ideal) trigger soreness in cartilagenous areas (especially one heel right now).

Yes! Found after several months that dosing mixed tocopherols 400mg/per 2-3 days stopped giving blood thinning and dizzy effects after a year or two. Right now flax seed oil and brorage is doing good at 1-2 tbsp/day.
I'd appreciate a bit of your thoughts on sulfurs. I remember loosely that it strongly effects calcium levels... and those are also important in neuropathy. Also that loosening too much Hg is of course Hell's Bells ringing mad and strong.
Pantothenic acid is a supplement I do have handy, though experiencing a boost from it seems also to be dosage and timing dependant. Pantethine is an interesting member of the b5 chain, but it has a double-sulfur bond and has, in the past, also halfway put me to sleep.
It feels like a great puzzle.
Iodine is necessary for the formation of double-sulfur bonds.
Without some level of sulfur intake Iodine worsens symptoms to a degree.
