Not to worry about muscle loss on a ten day MC. I have done much fasting, much of it long term (60 days last summer) and have yet to suffer "muscle loss". I continue to work out every day I fast, barring crises--I just finished up ten days doing my full routine including a pretty intense walk uphill! and feel WONDERFUL! I have BUILT muscle, and am increasing weights and reps!
And I will be 50 in October.
Are you very underweight? In this one instance you might be concerned. In this case, you might consider juice fasting rather than the MC, and use spirulina as a protein supplement. Otherwise... no problem!
And if you cannot or do not want to do the SWF, substitute a plain water enema. It is imperative you keep your intestines very clean every day you fast! This is not optional, but critical.
Break by the book, and get back to exercise! That muscle is right where you left it!
