I took 1 capsule Now Ashwagandha 450 mg daily, for about a year, couple years ago. At that time I suspect I already have mild symptoms of AF.

Initially it was amazing. Calm, confident, being in a better mood, more social, less stress. If I took 2 caps per day, I became irritable. Initially I took in in the morning, but after a while I noticed slightly sedated, so I switched to bedtime. The effects lasted till the next day even if I took it bedtime.

After about a year, I noticed being irritable and anxious. The irritability and anxiety stopped when I stop ashwagandha. Now, everytime I try it again, I notice the irritability and anxiety again. No idea why.

I used it for a short period of time and experienced severe depression. The same thing happened with Rhodiola. A chap on another forum told me that in advanced AF, any herb may prove to be a stimulant and thus cause side effects!
