Your conclusions seems correct to me.
Food you ate triggered itch!
Baby pickles, as well as kale chips (I assume it is kale fried in olive oil) could easily trigger itch.
Fried foods, heated oils in general are very likely to overwhelm fragile liver and fragile digestive tract.
Remember, everything you swallow should be liquid ... even if you consume solid foods, chew each mouthful 100 times until it becomes liquid, before swallowing.

In many people, strong natural acids trigger itch, like for example:
lime, lemon, orange, grapefruit, pickles, vinegar, raspberries, strawberries, pineapple, and unripe fruit.
Take it easy !
One or very few foods at a time.
If you consume lime, and vinegar, and pickles and beans the same day, it is impossible to figure out which one of those triggered symptoms .
