Thanks archus for taking time to try and help me out. I am conflicted to say the least.
On one hand its pretty easy now for me to fast. The next 8 weeks especially. My wife and son are in India and there is nearly no food in the house.
So eating involves a 1hr grocery run.
However I don't think I will have a stress free time in the next 5 years.
After the move, house repair and sale, then a huge construction project, and then a update in our current house etc etc.
Not to even count job and my autistic son going to college etc.
Its going to have to take place along with life.
I have got food cravings, nearly anything and everything. I want cruciferous veggies, I want chocolate, meat, coffee, tea, fat, biscuits, bread, mayo, mustard, peppers just everything. I don't believe its anything other than the fact that I haven't eaten in a few days. These are typically my symptoms.
Now for the cleansing aspect of it.
I fasted for many many several day periods with just water. Long before I found this forum. From Oct 20th to dec 15th I did 5, 8, 6, 9, 9 and 20 and till day 15 of that 20 I did not have coffee or tea. You think I may have detoxed a good bit in that window without even noticing it ?
Anyway I lived a clean life with nearly no health problems except for being fat.
Never a smoker, never did drugs, wasn't even a big soft drink consumer. Alcohol was likely my only vice and I would likely be classified as a light-medium drinker. Maybe 10 drinks a week, and 5 were red wine. I stopped drinking before June 2016. I also only started regular drinking ~2004 and I had my first drink in 92 at the age of 23. And for years only very rare.
Sugar and alcohol was my only 2 vices.
I am going to go dry fast in a few hours. I have a labor intensive weekend not to mention weeks ahead. But its light labor, so I'll plow on.
Maybe in 5 years I could do a pure dry then a water fast.
I find dry fasting under the right circumstances much easier than water fasting. I hope to get a 5 day dry especially if I get it started this evening. I am hoping today being day 4 my food cravings go away.
Thanks.
Srinath.
