I must object to the slanderous treatment of pineapple!!!
First, no one is going to eat papaya skin. Same goes for pineapple skin, where supposedly more bromelain is concentrated.
Second, eating pineapple is not an efficient way to get the enzymes in. You cannot digest or break down the copious cellulose in pineapple. Hence
juicing a ripe sweet pineapple is the way to go.
Papaya flesh on the other hand is easily digested.
I will grant you that papaya seeds are the strongest of the bunch, but not very tasty at all.
I keep pestering people here about whether they are eating real fruit or pills. Bromelain or papain powder does not hold a candle to fresh fruit juice.
Do the 1 liter of pineapple juice challenge! Too expensive for some people on a regular basis unless you live in the tropics.
The red flesh colored papayas are called strawberry papayas, much bigger and tastier than the orange flesh varieties.
In the southern u.s. you can grow pawpaws which are related? to papaya but not papaya. I wonder what their enzyme content is.
There is a whole world of tropical fruit and enzymes and I will bet you one giant
Tapeworm that many of them kill
parasites better than pineapples.
