Help!
This is going to sound completely contrary to the goal of most people here, but I need some advice. I am going on vacation and will be drinking alcohol heavily for 4-5 days and want to know what the best protocol would be to avoid my candida infection getting worse during this time/after.
After a couple of months following a candida/low-FODMAP diet and rotating multiple anti-fungals (GSE, SF722, Oregano Oil, Pau d'Arco, etc.), which really helped to improve my IBS/Leaky Gut/Candida symptoms, I have now stopped the anti-fungals and am taking digestive enzymes, probiotics (Dr. Ohhira's) and S. Boulardii to try and and implant good flora. This seems to be working really well - my digestion has improved a lot, although I have been having constant stinky gas, but that could just be from die-off because everything else has improved. I've also started taking molybdenum and panthentic acid/panthenine which has greatly improved my fatigure symptoms.
I'm wondering if it would be best to jump back on some anti-fungals that would help keep the candida in check while I drink beer and other sugary drinks, but don't want to hurt any of the good flora that have started to grow. I plan on continuing with the probiotics and molyb/PA, but then maybe start anti-fungals again like SF722 (Undecylenic acid) to minimize the good bacteria impact while keeping the candida from going hyphae. I would also stop taking the s. boulardii, which would be killed by anti-fungals anyways and I'd rather not be gassy the whole time.
I would then jump back on to my normal regimen once vacation is over and hope that not too much damage was caused. Or is it best to just continue with the S. Boulardii? Any other recommened anti-fungals or protocols to prevent candida overgrowth during times when you can't avoid sugar/alcohol?
