so I'm still struggling with horrific
Body Odor . I am writing this to help anyone else with PCOS related
Body Odor and so I can keep a record for myself. For a while I had this moldy smell, then I had just a sweat smell, (I was ecstatic in both cases, far better than smelling like a bag of raw onions in my opinion) but those only lasted a few weeks each. I couldn't connect what I was doing to the change in smells. Right now I take:
-Inositol (powder form every morning in water) which MASSIVELY helps with anxiety. I honestly couldn't bear to leave the house without it, after I take inositol and I can hear people making fun of me I don't get the hot flashes of embarrassment and tummy ache. I'm still embarrassed and want to die I just don't get the physical reaction.
-Maca I cant say what I like about it but it makes me feel more 'normal'. I give it to my husband as well for virility.
-Vitex Man this stuff is potent. Well I believe that anyways because I get strong mood swings now. I just started Vitex, about 2 weeks ago, I still haven't gotten a period but it does give me mood swings (only when dealing with my husband mmmm...) so it must be doing something to increase estrogen.
-Flaxseed I take this to reduce testosterone. I am T dominant, majorly, and I heard this helps. I also suffer from severe constipation (had an impaction that landed me in ER twice) that no laxative could touch. Ever since I started taking flaxseeds (aka linseed 2 tablespoons in morning) I go twice a day. So I cant report on t lowering yet but I do feel TONS lighter/less bloated/generally healthier. I had to get a
colonic it was that bad and that really helped loosen the impaction and the
colonic lady suggested taking 1 tablespoon ACV each morning on an empty stomach to keep things moving which I still do although some mornings I forget.
(note: when I was taking progesterone cream-which did not cure my BO- I did not have any problems with constipation. Pregnant women are known to suffer from constipation so it must be hormone related)
Also: before I connected bo to my pcos I took cholorophyll and body mint to try and eliminate smell. Well neither worked for that but they worked great to make me 'regular'. If I had access to these where I live now id be taking them both.
-Vitamin D I read it is supposed to help with balancing hormones but I don't notice anything.
-Probiotics I haven't had any real luck with these, I find flaxseeds far more useful but I do agree that most diseases start in the gut. I don't know if constipation is part of my BO but it isn't good to have anyways so I tried probiotics in an effort to cure constipation but it didn't help for that reason. I think I am going to keep it up just because I don't think it is doing any harm.
-I am going to start taking Saw Palmetto today as that is supposed to reduce T, it is traditionally used in men to decrease prostate size but many PCOS women use to resolve hirsutism with great success. Some people who have never suffered from BO reported smelling when taking this supplement, so I'm a bit afraid it will increase my Bo (like MSM did), but Id rather try and find out than not try at all. I will report back when I get some reactions from the public.
