Im on day 5 of a 6 day juice fast. I begin my 21-25 day Water Fast on MONDAY! This is my 4th 21 and a bit more days water fasting. My concern is that will be the first time I will be WORKING up to my 12th day. So.. 5 days working, weekend off.. Then 5 more days until I have 2 weeks off over the xmas holiday. Can anyone give me any words of advise for those working days?- Re: fasting and working archus

Having done many fasts while working, I can say it is not easy, but because I have a desk job I did ok, except for climbing stairs. I drink warm water to keep my energy level up and I ware extra layers to keep myself warm. I do deep breathing exercise twice a day, sometimes at lunch break. My energy levels are high in the mornings so I start work early and leave work early. I do not know if you have that choice or your energy levels are high in the morning or evening.

This is a reply to # 2,290,987yes my job is mostly desk or diving short distances.
I start at 8am done at 2:30pm M-F, so the hours are good!
I am in Toronto so, dressing warm and missing the sun
tell me more about your deep breathing exercises

Only thing I would add is count up to 20 when breathing in and 20 when breathing out. If you are not used to this then you will count up to 10 both ways. This is very energizing exercise.
Usually people under stress, in rushing, preoccupation and worried state breath from top part of their lungs. This adds to your stress rather than relieving it. Deep abdominal breathing will help in many ways as described in the video.
This should be done even if you are not fasting.

This is a reply to # 2,291,010Hey how is your week going so far? I'm aiming for a 30-40 day water fast, I'm on day 11. I work full time as a nanny for twin toddlers. It's very busy and I find I'm irritable and tired.
I'm very in tune with my body and if I start to feel it's too much I'll switch over to juice but it would be really great to be able to stick it out. I have 4 more work days before I'm off for the holidays. If I can push through these days my 30 day fast will end the day I return to work.
This is such a wonderful place to come for support. Most people don't seem to understand the health benefits of fasting.
Is it possible that my days could become easier on the fast?
