I found this link recently, and thought to myself that these breeders know, & acknowledge more then most Drs., including tropical disease Drs.!
I was wondering if these 2 meds can kill ALL types of encysted parasites, or just specific ones?
Anyone who has used this type of protocol, or is familiar with what types of parasites these particular meds kill, please chime in?

I'm trying to get rid of ascaris.
A few months ago I was reading online about treatments for horses.
e.g. fenbendazole "Power-pack" - one treatment per day for 5 consecutive days. Dose: 10 mg per kg body weight.
I'm in Australia. In the U.S. you can buy Safeguard paste in a tube. Not avail. here in Aust.
The e-book you linked to, says that ascarids require fenbendazole followed up with ivermectin or moxidectin (no dose given for ivermectin or moxidectin).
I haven't tried any of these drugs, yet.
Anyone tried any of these drugs, with success, against ascaris?

I haven't tried these meds yet, but tried Ivermectin twice on it's own, for ascarids and it didn't seem to have any effect?
Pyrantel Paomate liquid from E-Bay I tried once before anything else, under the assumption by most info sources that it would kill them, it just paralyzed them, and I could feel a few drop off! :(
Maybe some were expelled, but I don't know for sure? Either way, you need a fast acting laxative to flush them out, (although the bottle said "do not use a laxative") so I assume there's a laxative already in it? And maybe it would dilute the action of it, I don't know?

I saw the moxidectin was a one time treatment, that might be the only way I can treat the whole family. A one shot deal that I can hide in some yogurt. Trying to keep other family members on any lengthy protocol is an exercise in futility...

This is a reply to # 2,270,115I posted many articles including this one on encysted strongyle parasites , glad to see other sufferers going to the animal articles on this subject as they take this seriously. I will post my latest treatments with moxi after I get back from vacation next week with vet recommended dosing . I just won't post it till I tried it for a few months so this way you know I didn't kill myself with experimental meds,
