I was hoping that I could maybe get something clarified that I've been stumped by for weeks...
My mother and I both had a 4 point saliva adrenal panel done, which showed that both of us have low cortisol (total cortisol output for the day was similar, although mine was a few points lower).
But, my HTMA showed that my adrenals are less 'stressed' than my mothers. Based on our symptoms though, the saliva test seems to align with our symptoms more.
ADRENAL SALIVA RESULTS
06:00 - 8:00 AM--->11 (Depressed) 13-24 nM
11:00 - 1:00 PM--->4 (Depressed) 5-10 nM
04:00 - 05:00 PM-->4 (Normal) 3-8 nM
10:00 - Midnight-->1 (Normal) 1-4 nM
Total Cortisol Output: 20 (22 - 46 nM)

Well cortisol is going to be a better test of adrenal output. Hair minerals is going to be a broader picture of what is going on biologically but if you want to look specifically at adrenals look at adrenal hormones. I would argue hair

This is a reply to # 2,266,802Thank you for your reply. According to the HTMA consultant I am seeing, a Na/Mg ratio above a 6 indicates high adrenal output. With mine being a 6.25, that would place me in the high cortisol group which conflicts with the low cortisol reading of the saliva adrenal panel.
It made me wonder, if two people both have an Na/Mg ratio of a 6 lets say, but one has an Na:Mg of 12:2, and another has a Na:Mg of 36:6, does that not matter? Even though the one with the 12:2 clearly has much lower individual levels of the minerals than the one with the 36:6.
What do you think? Thanks!
