It won't last forever if you don't give up, 100% truth! Whatever surprising or strange or simple thing turns out working for you, you'll find it eventually. And sometimes we just need to be more patient and have more faith, because healing can take a long time. Imagine how long your condition has been brewing - it may take longer than that to correct the problem. Meanwhile, you can work towards the solution by educating yourself even more (without obsessing - which is something I had to learn)!
When I first started taking magnesium, I felt a kick of energy and mental clarity, followed by a comfortable calm. Then soon after I felt like my brain was being smothered by pillows - couldn't think straight at all. The mornings after taking magnesium, I would often feel slow-minded, worn down, thin, or stressed. I played with magnesium on and off for a couple months, and finally determined I was going through cleansing effects related to my body getting enough magnesium to "catch back up." I still think that's what it was, and now I don't get such dramatic effects - I feel more stable or calm, but my thinking is never impaired.
I can't say for sure whether or not your case is the same, but plenty of people have that sort of experience.
At some point I urge you to consider taking a break from synthetic (or even strong natural) hormone modifiers. Supplying such a specific chemical to the body will not uproot the problem. If you've been taking high levels of zinc for a while, I also strongly recommend taking a break from that. If/when you do, consider buying a chelated molybdenum product (solgar brand is the stuff I use, though sodium molybdate forms are also handy), as well as chelated copper (same for this one - I've only tried solgar, and it worked well). The idea with a supplement is to use the smallest amount that effectively improves your health - that's the natural way. If you've imbalanced your zinc-molybdenum-copper ratios by taking zinc, many problems can occur that might seem similar to whatever you were using the zinc to correct. The fastest way to bring these back into balance (in the case of too much zinc) is to first lightly supplement with chelated molybdenum and chelated copper, and then before you've overdone it stop both completely and work on getting all three minerals in your diet. The body can regulate the amounts of nutrients floating around all by itself, but not if you're always supplementing with unnatural amounts. It needs time to re-balance.
I believe the adrenal glands are blamed far too often for problems. In all actuality, while they're very important for health and happy living, they're far down on the list of commanding organs. What I mean by that is: if your adrenals have a problem, other organs failing at their job is almost always the cause. Sometimes simple nutrient deficiencies are to blame, too.
I may not have answered your questions perfectly, but I hope I've given you some ideas to chew on! Few people are going to be able to understand your situation like you do, but if you can find a buddy to bounce ideas off of on a chat program or in person, that may make the difference between healing taking 3 days or 3 years. Sometimes opposite advice and unfamiliar strategies can make all the difference.
Hope this helped!
