This is my first go at the cleanse. Yesterday was day one and i already slipped up and ate a bowl of chili mac. It was quite a small bowl... Just enough to fit neatly on top of 5 saltine crackers. I was discusted with myself because i want even hungry. So i said i was going to start over tomorrow... Well i agree some veggies this morning and decided to go ahead and contribute with the salt water flush and lemonade. But I've been laying here for about thirty minutes and i feel so sick. Is it because mutt stomach wasn't empty when i drank the salt water? I've read through some of these threads and I'm laying in my right side but it doesn't seem to be helping much. ): also... What are some tips anyone might ha e on keeping on track when youre the only one in the house on a fast and youre the cook. Lol

This is a reply to # 2,238,861Hello, you have to do the swf on an empty stomach, that is the only way it really works. This is my second time on the MC. When you have top cook for others, its best to have already takendone lemonade and some water, so you won't get any cravings. I started yesterday, but I have to start over because I had to have a slice of pizza. Let's stay motivated, the first time after the 3rd day I was good, we just have to make it to that point.- Make up your mind Somer

This is a reply to # 2,240,119It's like the Nike ads, guys, JUST DO IT! Either you are going to do it or you are not going to do it... once you figure that one out the rest is easy.
The hardest part of a fast is the first three days. After that you start feeling pretty darn light, and clear and clean and you lose the hunger, unless you mess with your own head and it's a mental/emotional "hunger".
I've done a bunch of MCs, juice fasting and even water (which to me is totally unnecessary unless you just HAVE to go there), and you really have to give yourself a chance to feel the light, clean, clear feelings to know why it's all worth it!
Having macaroni and pizza and lemonade and salt water flushes won't do it.
I do food for a living, and really love working with the smells and colors of food, even more than ever while fasting when senses are extra sharp. Many times, well into a long fast, I have snatched a beautiful plate of food from in front of a surprised diner and taken a good long WHIFFFF!!!! Aaaah, the smells are so intense while you're fasting!
If you can't make it, don't beat yourself up, but don't try to combine wrong eating with cleansing That's nuts.
Can you do it? The question is, DO YOU WANT TO DO IT? Look yourself in the mirror and ask.
And of course, look here for support! There are lots of us going through the same stuff. That's the beauty of Curezone.

This is a reply to # 2,257,167The motivation for a cleanse matters, in my opinion. Yes, it is a mental-thing all the way.
The last Master Cleanse that I did was a few years ago, and my motivation was 1)for the fun of it (as in what cool things will happen today?) and 2) for the cleansing of it/ health of it. I did a 12 day cleanse.
This cleanse, my motivation is weight loss - and it is a whole different animal.
Starting out knowing that you are "sick of how you look" isn't very positive, to say the least. Each day I still am tempted to call it quits, due to the huge mountain that I need to climb.
This cleanse and mental state is for me to draw a line in the sand and tell my body that my MIND is the one in control... not my appetite!
The worst/best part of this cleanse for me is my hightened sense of smell! Cooking for DH is not a problem, I just want to stand over the food and take deep sniff after deep sniff!
Grocery shopping.... smelling restaurant cooking as you pass by.... seeing food in the fridge... all show me just how addicted I am to food.... (Thus, the extra poundage...) Thus, the awful battle going on.
There isn't a "better" time of the year to cleanse, as each season has its times of gatherings with food, or time to put up jams or salsa, or whatever.
It IS all in the mind - it is as simple as that.
This cleanse is INDEED much more challenging for me - thanks for the good reminders and encouragement.
