If you're thinking that the Mirena is the cause of your symptoms, then it probably is. No one knows your body as well as you know your body. If you know what you're feeling isn't normal, don't risk your permanent healthy for birth control that you could switch or overall eliminate. I had the Mirena inserted last may and i have had awful cramping that has come and gone for the last 14 months. Also i have developed anxiety and mood swings. Brain fog is definitely something that I have experienced.
Today i went to the doctor and told him i wanted it out. My side effects weren't too serious but I could feel that my body is off and i wanted to feel like myself again. He was more than happy to remove it, didn't ask questions, did it in the same visit. Took less than 2 minutes to remove it compared to the painful insertion that i underwent last year. I have not had a baby so it was quite painful getting it inserted. I was very surprised how easy and painless the removal was, so if that's your hesitation cross it off your list because it was so fast and convenient.
I feel so happy with my decision. I want to take care of my body and I feel like i did the right thing for me.
I can't stress enough how important your health is. If your symptoms are this bad and it's negatively (severely) affecting your life, REMOVE IT!
Nothing is worth debilitating symptoms that affect relationships and overall functionality if you can avoid it!
Very quick, virtually painless and you'll be happier in the end without the extra hormones in your system, mood swings, brain fog, and whatever other symptoms this device has caused you or has negatively affected your life.
Good luck to you all xoxo
