This is a reply to # 2,212,779You cannot fortify a forum. It is not the forum that is lacking, it is the caliber of the participants.
It is analogous to a nation's economy, which is a reflection of the industriousness and productivity of the people in the nation. An economy is not a stock market exchange, that is only the place where transactions occur between industrious persons. If you put bunglers in action at the stock market, weird things can happen.
Same with an Iodine debate forum. If the debaters were industrious, there could be more discourse here, but there is one problem. The problem is, that arguing against Iodine is a losing argument. Iodine is so rock-solid necessary and beneficial, that anyone who takes a position against it risks getting laughed at for doing so. That's why there's not much debate about iodine. What's on here are people with personality conflicts they therapize each other with, by name-calling and other juvenile behavior.

How is your analogy, referring to people here as 'bunglers', any different than your accusations?
And, the 'bunglers' here arent arguing at all that Iodine isnt an important nutrient, they never have.
No one is arguing against iodine, the argument is more about the amount of it needed.
Grizz makes the same mistake as you, an inability to comprehend the posts that he argues against.

If you wish to take it out of context and apply it to people who post on a forum, I cannot stop you.
There is no argument about the amount of Iodine needed. The amount "needed" varies from individual to individual. You can't refute that, so, there's no argument.
Like I said, just personality conflicts here, like you are trying to fan the flaming flames of, by referencing "grizz" and insinuating I've called anybody on this board a bungler.
Stooges would be a better word. By the way, your use of the word "needed" is indefinite. You never specified "needed" for what ? i.e., a different amount is needed to just barely survive, than the amount needed to flush heavy metals from the body. So it is only natural that people need different amounts of iodine, depending on many factors, including the result they have in their sights.

"Iodine was still a universal medicine, present in the US Pharmacopeia and was used at much higher dosages than anyone even dreams of using today.
The usual dose for treatment was 300 mgs (46 drops of full strength Lugol’s) to 1 gm (1000 mg, 154 drops)."

Dr. Abrahams recommends taking 50 mg of Iodine/Iodide as Lugol’s solution (8 drops) daily for 3 months as a loading dose. Lugol’s solution is available online at varying concentrations. Then his recommendation is that dose should be gradually reduced to the 12.5 mg (2 drops) maintenance dosage under the supervision of a knowledgeable health care professional. Dr Abrahams feels that 14 to 15 mg. of iodine/iodide daily is the upper maximum of safety for long term use.
but when treating LIFE THREATENING diseases it would not be unheard of to use upward of 200 drops a day in divided doses.
The highest dosage I have heard any doctor using today is 100 mg and that is quite a bit when you take Iodine in a form where you can taste and appreciate what you are taking into your body.
When treating LIFE THREATENING DISEASES
Dr. Michael B. Schachter says, “The treatment dose when a person is Iodine insufficient is generally between 12.5 mg and 50 mg daily.

We are all in agreement that we need iodine. The correct answer is different strokes for different folks.

Some people are asking for help with iodine, or for help with Iodine deficiency symptoms. I always reference my answer with links to my website or links to testimonials.
