Hey, everyone! I'm really upset because my twin sister went to the doctor today, (she's had a thyroid biopsy) and asked him for an
Iodine test to check and see if she was deficient. He said that the last time someone asked him that, he referred the person to an endocrinologist and he said "you're not deficient in
Iodine unless you live in Africa". I warned her that most doctors aren't in tune to this information yet, but to insist. She's now not going to keep taking the
Iodine that she started with (1-2 drops of 2% lugol's). My brother has prostate cancer, and he's starting on higher doses. My dad had it also. We grew up in western Pennsylvania. It is so frustrating that she's giving up! Doctors practice medicine, but so many people think their word is gospel. It's just common sense to try something that isn't going to hurt you! It's worth a shot! Thanks for listening--I'm just irritated.
