I have done three successful MCs and numerous ones that went less than 10 days. I believe with all my heart that there are times when we simply are not ready to fast, it may be because of physical reasons or even emotional ones.
The Master Cleanse is not for everybody nor is it always right to do anytime. Your body may be telling you now is not the right time for this. Since you've done it before, you know you can do it and you know what to expect. While only you can deal with emotional eating issues, it is also true that only you can listen to your body and try to determine what it wants. It may need some kind of heal/cleansing/nurture that cannot be accomplished through fasting right now.
You may want to use
The Master Cleanse drink as a meal replacement for one or two meals a day, or you might want to switch over to a cleansing diet of fruits and vegetables and eliminate all meat, dairy, grains and sweets. Juice fasting is another option (although more difficult than
Master-Cleanse for me). The point is to commit yourself to a healthy eating lifestyle, follow through, and when the time is right you will be able to complete another fast.
Remember that
The Master Cleanse is not a magic formula. There are many ways to cleanse and detoxify your body, and to lose weight, if that is your primary goal. For the best results,
Master-Cleanse needs to be down without any foods including animal protien broths. However I am very open to learning what works best for other people. There is a General Fasting Forum that is an ideal place to discuss different modalities of fasting. While fasting plus a few cookies (or any other solid food) is discouraged, any fasting technique is welcome to be discussed there. The problem is the forum has not been too active lately.
Here's hoping that whatever you decide to do, you will find success in the things you need to accomplish.
