Hi all,
I just wanted to share a personal experience of mine when I recently stopped using iodine.
Quick history:
- huge mt dew drinker for 15+ past years of life.
- taken Paxil (fluoridated) drugs for a few years
- started
Lugols 2 years ago: up to 500mg and mostly 300mg daily.
- never had any thyroid pain or swelling before using Lugols.
For some unknown reason, I've been craving and eating Mcdonalds, eating 2 double cheeseburgers and a large coke nearly everyday for the past 3-4 months. About three weeks ago, I stopped pretty much all supplements, including my coveted Lugols.
At about the end of that 3 week period without iodine, I got a slow creeping ache in my neck above my collarbone. It felt very warm, tight and I felt really off. This scared me as I have never experienced anything like this. Was this my thyroid screaming for
Iodine that it has gotten used to getting?
After the 2nd day of pain there, I decided to take a whole dropper full of
Lugols and
SSKI .......what happened next was amazing to me. The pain in my neck was gone within the hour and is still gone since I've continued taking it.
Is it possible that all the brominated bread and not having my daily
Iodine made my thyroid pissed off after only 3 weeks? My Thyroid has never yelled at me before finding iodine, but once it got it, it got upset when I took it away.
