hi, I think dry fasting is probably the only treatment that could allow the intestines to heal, during my longest fast of 4 days I felt my whole digestive system aching which is a sign it was healing as whenever I have had anything heal while dry fasting there is pain in that area while the cells are dissolved by the T-cells thus triggering the nerve endings in those cells.
So I know my stomach and intestines have healed while dry fasting, so therefore whatever leaky gut I might have had healed somewhat. I don't think I had an symptoms of leaky gut before, but my gut must have worn out somewhat from 38 years of eating and drinking.
The aching I felt was a bit like food poisoning, quite uncomfortable and through the entire intestinal area - so dry fasting can heal the gut, maybe you have to do a lot to heal a leaky gut but it is worth the go.
if you try it then make sure you rehydrate properly with an electrolyte drink afterwards, read my post from the other day titled 'everybody should read this'
If you have health problems then you might want to tell your doctor first (who will try to talk you out of it) or get someone who knows what they are doing to supervise you.
I did talk to one girl who had celiac disease who could not dry fast as she had had her colon removed and therefore more than 2 hours without drinking an electrolyte drink meant she became so dehydrated she nearly died once.
The fact is the only chance your intestinal lining will ever get to heal is when you dont eat or drink anything.
