There is an option of taking the straight ladder that is also abutted against it, but doing so, one forgoes opportunity of learning what is at each of the steps on the spiral.

The best for me has been taking each step slowly, examining its intricate artwork before moving a level. Fulfillment I achieve by sharing observations with those I meet on the steps of the spiral, the higher one goes the less populated are the steps but the quality of the souls increases.
