Ok long story short...
We have pets and live in an area where theres lots of strays/feral animals.
Our cats have had worms. I found hookworms on my babies bedding!! (cats arent supposed to be on it but one apparently was :(
Baby has no signs of having worms. Cats have been dewormed and I deworm them quarterly. Pediatrician said it was highly unlikley that kids would have got the worms (but I beg to differ). My 4yo always complains of a "scratchy butt" and being a nurse, I check him frequently for any worms but never see any. Im asking for a parasite screening at his next checkup.
Meanwhile I want info on family safe, easy, gentle, natural herbal parasite remedies. Nothing that can easily become toxic for children or cause severe stomach upset. Nothing that is very pricey/hard to find. Prefer stuff I can grow in my garden or purchase at grocer.
Was thinking garlic, thyme, mint, sage (I have those in the garden) and psyllium fiber. How to take these? Eating fresh sprigs? How much and how often?
Will these pass through breastmilk to benefit baby aswell?
My husband thinks im nuts so Im kinda guinea piggy-ing myself lol...
If parasite screening is positive on 4yo im going to try herbal method first.

I would personally be hesitant to do anything while you are nursing, although I think what you mentioned above is harmless, but I don't know if that would be strong enough to kick a parasite infection in yourself.
We did Humaworm for our children ages 2-5, but my youngest just turned 3 this month and we are on our second round of Humaworm and have had HUGE success! My now 3 year old expelled TONS of liver flukes from our first cleanse that he must have picked up from the lake when we went camping. Their doses of herbs like Wormwood are smaller then say like Hulda Clark so it takes longer to clean the whole body. Being on round 2 we are already feeling better and it's definitely working!

Did your kids have any side effects ie upset stomach, diarrhea etc from humaworm? And is there dosing info on the bottle?
My kids are 7mo, 4& almost 7. I wont give the baby any dewormer until hes 1+ yr. Having 2 boys, I see how filthy they get and the yhings they put in their mouth..... Then their are things from my 4yo like " Hey mommy! Theirs poop in the yard. Yep I poked some holes in it with a stick for you!" Or when he was pretending to be a dog and licked the display glass at the butcher... Yea, Id be suprised if he had no parasite in his body..
My almost 7yo is a nail biter so she constantly has fingers in her mouth.
Being a nurse, I showed them in a textbook what parasites are and how we can get them... DH thinks im paranoid about it... I had worms when I was a toddler so I dont think Im the least bit paranoid.

This is a reply to # 2,145,039Oh my goodness! I KNOW! My boys eat EVERYTHING!!! My youngest would drink any water from anywhere!!
Ummm....they had side effects that were related to die off...the worms dying and releasing toxins into their body. The first cleanse it went by with a breeze. However, my youngest who drinks anything did have upset tummy, but he had upset tummy for MONTHS before we did the cleanse! When I started seeing the worm-load in his diaper I knew why! Once he was cleansed his poops started to get better and we could actually potty train him. Now we are on cleanse two and we only had headaches the first day.
With Humaworm you give 1/8 of a teaspoon for every 30 pound child, and your child must be 30 pounds and two years old before you can deworm them with humaworm. My youngest is as big as my oldest so they get the same dose with applesauce every day. Humaworm gives it a powder form. My DH and I take it in powder form as well just so we are all the same. This is a reply to # 2,145,046You can try Paypaya seeds. They put a few in honey and have the kids swallow them. You can break them up a little.You can use coconut oil, grated carrots on an empty stomach or grated coconut. If they have hookworms I would not mess around because it can stunt a childs growth and brain development. This is a reply to # 2,145,142Yes. Im aware of the problems associated with parasites and childhood growth. Sucks when your pediatrician thinks only kids that are in unsanitary conditions are likely to get a parasite... But really his only sign of possible infestation is a scratchy butt...
I have checked at night for anything peeking out and havent found anything. Im asking for a test atvhis checkup in April.

I couldnt find a price on the humaworm website for just the powder. I dont want to get the family package either...
Cant find it on amazon either....
Oh lol about the water issue.... I used to have to run outside before my son when he was a young toddler because If I didnt sweep away any puddles he would pretebd to be a puppy and drink from them! Ugh...the water was all greenish with a slime layer and the neighbors dog used to pee right on the other side of the fence... Im wondering if this is also why he gets things like fungal warts and such easier than the rest of us..? Hes only had Antibiotics once (so I know its not a lack of good flora) for a severe sinus infection that even the nettipot couldnt get rid of...- Re: New here. Need help regarding hu... BrandyS

This is a reply to # 2,144,877Humaworm for kids has no Wormwood in it, as far as I know. Wormwood isn't safe for kids.
