I'm brand new to this forum, so please direct me to any material/info which you think may benefit me with my issue.
My issue is, I have a fruit intolerance, so things like honey and coconut oil make me sick, tho less sick than not being on the SCD.
To start, i've been on the SCD diet for about 2 months now. I started by just removing the 'illegal' foods, but after 2 weeks, went back and started again with the intro diet. I'm still doing the staged introduction found on peacanbread.com.
I can't eat bananas, which are on the intro stage on pecan bread.
I wasn't diagnosed with with a specific disease, but i had been very tired, irritable, depressed, had soft irritable stools, etc, etc for a while. I had tried paleo and gaps, with no success. I also knew i was 'allergic' to certain foods which no one had an explanation for, except SCD.
So, now i'm doing a strict SCD diet, with limited success, because i keep having to eat honey and coconut oil ( in pretty huge quantities) in order to get enough calories to not lose any more weight ( i'm ~6' and 155lbs). None of my clothes fit anymore.
My stomach is full all day long, but without honey/coconut oil, i struggle to get 1500 calories ( i need ~2500/ day). Soups, stews, and veggies without fruit fill my stomach but leave my tank on empty, leaving me tired, unmotivated, irritiable, etc, about half the time ( a huge improvement tho)
So, are their non-fruit based foods i can eat which have a ton of calories like these 2? The only other thing I've found is Almond Butter, but i can only take so much of that each day.
Any advice or resources anyone can provide are greatly appreciated.
