Hey folks..
I wrote about this symptom a few months back as it was something i got a few times per week, but now it's more severe and daily.
I'm trying to figure out if this has anything to do with adrenal or endocrine system in general or if it's indicative of something else.
My eye lids are puffy like i've been crying for hours. It used to be just one eye - now it's both and worse when i wake up (waking up is when i feel like death, it's my worst time of the day).
Also the top part of skin below the eyebrow droops over my eyelid. Again, this was just one eye for over a year, now it's both.
I don't know what this symptom means.
Have any of you guys experienced this with your AF? Or know what it could mean if not AF related?
It's really bugging me now because it's got worse and makes me look like i've been crying all the time lol
I don't wear any eye make up for years now, so it's not irritation. I use olive oil soap on my skin only. I don't use moisturisers or anything like that on my skin.
I might post a picture to show what i mean if i can get one to upload.

This is a reply to # 2,138,440I used to get that. It tended to be after I was exposed to something I had become environmentally sensitive too, such as wood dust.
I haven't had this for a couple of years.

It hasn't effected me in the past. Definitely something to wonder if it's a type of allergy reaction..i do have random sneezing fits.

My hair test showed hypothy. too over a year ago, but for me the bloospot TSH was low with also low T3 and T4.
Yet again, being hypothy. could easily indicate the thyroid had down regulated function in line with hypo adrenals or pituitary.
When there's multiple Hypo glands it's so hard without good medical diagnosis to find which gland is the culprit...and then figure out why THAT gland has 'stopped working'.
I found the thyro and adrenal protocols to not touch the sides of my symptoms - if anything it made some worse.
When we consider the axis all the glands function under - it's understandable that we can have many down regulating due to one imbalance. Treating all those down regulated glands is kinda futile because they're not dysfunctional - they're just operating on a lower level due to another gland that's 'gone wrong'.
Figuring out which gland that is, it's pretty impossible without good diagnostics. All we can do without doctors support is try to do the protocols and gauge reactions.
I stopped the adrenal and thyroid protocol after getting the 4 low adrenal results and thyroid results as obviously their function wasn't improving! I was on the protocols for over 14 months. So personally i have to look elsewhere for the culprit - which for me, seems to be ovary related.
Others on here do the adrenal/thyroid protocols and slowly get better.

This is a reply to # 2,138,463The rocket is not fun Bec, you totally dont want it! Panic, painful two hour long adrenaline surging, anxiety every single morning...then all of a sudden it calms down and most afternoons are more peaceful. Proper insane.
I think we should just pay some middle eastern doctor to put us into medically induced comas for twelve months, our bodies will fix themselves up nicely with nice IV dripped nutrients and food, no stress, no hassle, just a big ass sleep! This is a reply to # 2,138,467No...i know the rocket has it's let downs. I used to get morning anxiety so bad. I got so fed up with that state i would get up and just shout and stomp about the place trying to disperse it! Often i would punch the hell out of my pillow! Waking up feeling terrified is just awful.
I don't know how i switched from rocket to slumber - i slept an awful lot, really just turned off life. I then introduced physical things which i loved to do. Being mindful to not overdo it.
That then caused me to be up late feeling wide awake...and feeling crappy tired when waking up.
Finding the middle-state to the rocket and slumber is SOOO hard.
Love the idea of long-term induced coma to repair hahaa! I bet Lam has considered this concept even if not written about it :-)
Maybe that'll be the technology of the future? Recuperation Sleep Pods for the burnt-out 21st century generation :-) It could have an auto IV that constantly measures electrolytes/amino's etc and would deliver everything needed to bring back to perfect balance. They could even have muscle massagers to keep muscular condition :-)
I'd go for it! ha!

This is a reply to # 2,138,470Ive been trying that for almost a year, still hasnt calmed down! Ill keep going. but yeah punching pillows, screaming, crying, pacing around the house like a madman, being shattered but going for a long walk just to stop the adrenaline with my mind going haywire...I want the slumber state! I would actually love that sooooooo much, its been years. God, I used to sleep loads, wake up, smoke a joint, and go back to sleep for another three or four hours, now im lucky to get 3 hours sleep a night.
However,niether of us should be on the computer this late at night :)
You know, if Lam could put me into a coma for twelve months, I would actually do it!
'Dr Lams new Lipo Coma! Its a machine that wraps you in tiny lipo balls of vitamin C and quantamax, so as you sleep for twelve months,and when you wake up the adrenals are healed' ha. I would totally do it.
Shannon and I reckon you should post a photo of your swollen eyes, only really cause we have always been curious what you look like :)

Lam's lipo coma is hilarious! :-)
I've been told i'm a cross breed of jerry hall and meryl streep with the body of Madonna. What they mean is i am a cross between a horse and a man! hahaaa ;-)
Face changes are interesting. I've noticed mine changing completely over 2 yrs, since being ill. Seems it shows in the face and eyes. I have the book on Facial Diagnosis of Cell Salt Deficiencies which is really intriguing, but it doesn't mention the droopy eyes.
You're right, the screen of a computer into the late hours at night means only one thing = insomniac exhaustion!
The meditations recorded on youtube are great for listening to and drifting off to sleep...i keep the lappy on the floor and long headphones. Some recordings are 8 hours long! Would highly recommend trying them if you've got used to your own material.

For the computer screen, download FLUX - its free, and on sunset it automatically takes out of the daylight colours from your screen (blues and whites), makes it a warm red colour, and really helps with using the computer before bed to mimic natural rythmn. . I sometimes have it on in the day as well just cause it looks nicer and warmer )
I have tried the 8 hour meditation, its tough though as I have to get up and eat to stop the shaking every two to three hours or so, and when I'm in a hypoglycemic panic I want to destroy the voice that is telling me to focus on relaxing my right foot :)
I will PM you dentist details...but to be honest, you could have a word with an NHS dentist when you come back over, (or maybe head up to Belfast for the day? lots of dodgy Belfastians :)) and see if they could do the process like I did.

This is a reply to # 2,138,449I was wondering if thyroid is the cause too. My blood panel was more suggestive of hypopituitary causing the thyroid and adrenal issues. I'm still looking into this angle.
The morning thing for me im sure is related to the really low cortisol which the panels i've done have shown. Morning reading was the worse out of the 4 lows. I have no problem getting out of bed, it's the waking up part i struggle with - i feel like i'm still sleeping/dreaming and its only after 4 hours of being up i start to feel 'energy' coming up.
When i first wake i find my eyes won't open...they're very heavy...i try to sit up, and normally slump into sleep again. This happens a few times. So i force myself out of bed and am wondering around with half open heavy tired eyes. I feel drugged for 4 hours to be honest yet am on nothing at all!
Maybe the eyes are looking so swollen due to having the wrong type of sleep?
One doctor said my sleep symptoms sound like narcolepsy, which also came up on my gene test.
This apparently is due to the brain not going into deeper restorative sleep waves, and remaining at dreaming waves of sleep - the reason most narcoleptics have lots of dream recall.
I wonder if this sleep brainwave activity is literally causing me to feel so tired so my eyes now look so tired?
I've tried binaural beat type frequencies during sleep but they're horrible to listen to, not calming, and keep me awake!
Thought i'd ask here again about this symptoms 'cos i know most of us here have thyroid/adrenal/pituitary imbalances going on yet haven't read others talk about it much, so i've been questioning if it's something else.- Re: Swollen, Puffy, Droopy Eyes symp... #137587

My teeth are something i'm in denial about to be honest because i know i need 6K to get them to a state of being non-toxic fillings...eek!

This is a reply to # 2,138,468Go to my dentist, £300 and removed 12 mercury ones and replaced them with composites - fiddled the NHS so that it looked like I was just getting white fillings and not the removal, £1600 worth of work for £300 notes, and she used the dental dam, and tonnes of vacuums etc Necked tonnes of charcoal and collodial silver...never saw mercury on a hair test but didnt feel any better or worse afterwards.

The place 3 hours from me - the most local - wants hundreds per filling, not including replacement!
Like you, i'm afraid of sinking so much money into not feeling much different afterwards.
Although i'd rather have something safer in my mouth than mercury and plan to change them just for that reason.

This is a reply to # 2,138,461I´ve been investigating how to restore HPA axis function now for some time. Right now I will be trying natural antidepressants which in clinical studies show different degrees of HPA restoration/modulation. For example low dose curcumin restored it in rats in one study over time. And of course an inflammed and autoimmune gut does not help the hormonal glands, that needs work too.
Thyroid blood tests are only useful for severe cases. For subclinical hypo you need urine 24 h sadly.
