MoreFor people that have used metametrix's parasite panel did it help you with a diagnosis?
If not did you at least get PPTU? Do you think it is more reliable than most other lab tests?

MoreThis is a reply to # 2,127,695metametrix I heard isen't doint pcr testing for parasites and have gone back to the standard 3 ova and parasite samples to be sent to them for microscopy. drs weren't happy with pptu result.genova lab who they merged with said that is the gold standard.I never used them but now that they are going back to traditional methods of testing makes me wonder if the people who used the pcr testing got second best.

I tested with Genova a few months ago and while they found some bacterial infectiond they didn't find any parasites. I hope this merger means their tests will be improved.- Re: Metametrix test poll friedegg

This is a reply to # 2,127,750metamtrix will be different used to be pcr.as far as I know both labs will check parasites by microscopy. which is similar to my local labs so are they any better ?you might want to consider parawellness he found microsporidia in me.

This is a reply to # 2,127,756here,s the thing which gets me so angry .when I test at my local lab they don't even test for microsporidia its not even available . BUT the secret labs that test for this where I live do test for this but it would have to be specifically asked to be tested and unless you had hiv or were a immigrant from a "parasitic country" they wont test you.$$$$IGNORANCE$$$$

This is a reply to # 2,127,758It seems pretty much like some of the labs are simply making money on these times. Maybe they find stuff like pinworms but to date genova and quest don't seem to find anything with their stool tests. I wonder if they have someone look at it for two seconds and if they don't so anything they just toss it. It's beens aid that samples with worms in the jar have been sent to these labs andt he tests came back negative for anything. Seems like they should be sued if anything if they are just making money from these tests and not not diagnosing anything.

This is a reply to # 2,127,777yup I have pinworms and not one of my tests ever got a positive for those .the dr tested me for pinworms once in his office .he got right in there to do it the sticky tape test.but your not going to find esggs on my butt when I just got out of the shower goof.

This is a reply to # 2,127,777I also sent 6 samples to quest labs and they never found anything they were incapable of processing my credit card also.and the lady who took the samples from the testing facility to the airport didn't know left from right so my confidence in them finding something wasn't very high.

This is a reply to # 2,127,756The thing about parawellness that gets me a little versus metametrix is that metametrix gives three days of samples to give in where as I think parawellness only does one day so it seems like maybe they have more a chance to miss some stuff cause it's one sample rather than three- just an idea though.
also metamatrix is a little cheaper, it's around half the price. if it came down to it parawelless is an option tho but i feel like maybe metametrix might be better to start with

This is a reply to # 2,127,763I THINK THOUGH WHATS MOST IMPORTANT IS THE EXPERTISE OF THE LAB TECH THE AMOUNT OF TIME THEY SPEND ON EACH SAMPLE THE STAINS THEY USE and I THINK PARAWELLNESS IS BETTER ON THOSE POINTS.HES BEEN A LAB TECH FOR THE USA MILITARY SO I FELT COMFOTABLE IN HIS EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING.

This is a reply to # 2,127,764I hear that. I feel 50/50 about it pretty much. It seems like the odds are that both might find something else. I guess I'll see what happens ultimately. I did feel like I should've done metametrix from the start but the lyme doctor used Genova so I went with them back then, but now they have merged labs so maybe they combine their tactics now, etc. parawellness seems interesting too tho. If i went with metametrix and didn't find anything, they would be next on my list.

This is a reply to # 2,127,781doctors data never found any parasites but they let me know my probiotic levels are quite low so parasites are nibbling away on the good guys creating a dysbiosis down there.so I cant take probiotics because its only wasting my money until I can kill the protozoa .the test they do is called a comprehensive stool analysis with parasitologyx3.

This is a reply to # 2,127,798protozoa ive read are found much more than worms in stool tests and maybe the reason some don't get well with protozoa treatment is because they have helminthes as well and they need proper treatment for that too. plus all these baby doses people are being prescribed for helminthes isen't helping matters.

This is a reply to # 2,127,798I tested with Cahill. He said he found hookworm, and he prescribed me a day of praziquantil. I followed up with him a while after and he found nothing. I even asked if he could help out somehow and he talked about how his prices are cheaper than most doctors since he doesn't take insurance. I don't think I'll be going back to him. At least he didn't find any protozoa so I think maybe my main culprit is flukes and he simply didn't find them.

This is a reply to # 2,127,764I ended up deciding to go with Parawellness to try more testing. Seems like it makes sense given their specialty is parasites and the doctor does seem legit. He said if he didn't find anything he'd try two more tests for free to see if something can be found. Plus they are a parasite specialty lab. Seems like the way to go. Hopefully they can find some answers. I may try fluke treatments soon also but more info can help pretty much.

This is a reply to # 2,129,800good idea .nice of him to do free testing.if he finds anything ask him to recommend a dr for treatment and let me know please.he gave me the holisticmedicine.org website but i havent had any luck. in finding a dr yet. ive made an appointment with an infectious disease dr with a result but i would like to know if he has a name. thanks. he sells his own products as well and i am considering using them but would like to try the meds first.

It was a complete waste of time and money as I got the PPTU.
I already knew I had parasites, took the test for the sole reason of identifying which type.
