I started seeing an immunologist, who clearly thinks my naturopath is a quack. Anyway, she did an immune function panel, or whatever it's called, and it showed that my immune function is very low, not alarmingly low (what she said) but out of range low. At the same time, she is totally discounting the testing my naturopath did that essentially illustrate the same thing.
Immunologist said that in order to see if my immune system is responding she would give me a pneumonia vaccination and in a few weeks test my blood again to see if my immune system makes the antibodies. I'm not totally sure if I"m explaining this the way she explained it to me. I was very apprehensive and asked if there was another way, she said no. So I ended up doing it and feel really weird about it. All of this medical stuff is so confusing to me. But I've been so sick for so long and want to find the actual cause. I refuse to take neurontin for my fibromyalgia and undergo surgery for the Meniere's. There's so many symptoms and there hasn't been a doctor yet that has helped.
I wonder what could be causing my immune function to be so low?
