Hello,
I am approaching my 51st birthday and it would appear that "peri-meno" is in full swing, according to me. I missed some periods and recently started very heavy bleeding for past 7 days.
I visited 2 doctors who have blamed
Depression for all of this as recent blood tests claim to show I have the physiology of a younger women. True FSH was low, and estrogen levels were high. Previously though FSH has been high and estrogen low.
I have been told that I do look very young for my years, this apparently seems to confuse doctors, I reminded them that I was almost 51, alas...
My other symptoms are hair loss, and a feeling a though someone were grabbing me around the front of my neck. I should mention that i have been suffering with unexplained symptoms of fatigue, hair loss and bloating, weight gain , hot flushes for past 7 years too all of which haev really affected me badly and ability to function well at work.
I turned down the prescription for anti-depresants. It would appear unlike other women of my age I will not be going through the menopause according to this GP.
What on earth do I do? I can't help looking 15 years younger, I have always looked young. But this takes the biscuit!
Scream!
Thanks for reading and any advice on this latest set of symptoms - prolonged bleed and extreme hair shedding and sensation around front of neck area...so much appreciated!
Also forgot to mention nausea and light headedness too, and yes I am depressed because I feel as though I am battling ignorance!
Sorry !
